Sunseekerz

Sunseekerz are a Canadian producer/DJ duo based out of Calgary, Alberta. The duo currently consists of members Richi Omony and Tibor Tomic. The two met in late 2011 at a trance show at one of local city venues, they soon realized they had both had the same passion for electronic dance music. The two later begun a friendship and started discussing the possibilities of creating a duo. Even though Tibor was more influenced by the melodic sounds, melodies and style of European dance music and Richi more influenced and captivated by the raw energy brought forth from electro and progressive house. Although at the beginning they didn’t share the same influences or style, they teamed up anyway and started to experiment with their two separate styles. After putting together several test mixes the duo was able to narrow down the style they had both wanted to play as well as later begin producing. In March of 2012, the newly paired up duo had given their mix to a local club promoter they knew, after listening to the mix he was impressed and offered them a locals slot at an upcoming event. After shortly the success of their first two live shows they decided on the name “Sunseekerz” and continued playing shows together on a bi-weekly basis. Mid-way through 2012 they joined the roster of Ink Promotions (local promotion company in Calgary), with this new opportunity the duo soon found themselves playing larger venues and have been featured on shows alongside such acts as W&W, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Morgan Page, Mat Zo, and Audien to name a few. In the winter of 2013 the duo had began making their own mashups and creating edits of tracks. With this newly found success they begun playing more frequently in well known hot spots around the city. In August of 2013, Sunseekerz were presented with the chance to be featured DJs on an upcoming outdoor festival called Chasing Summer Music Festival. The festival itself received amazing praise and reviews from not only the attendees but from featured artists well as, the lineup included such artists as Tiesto, Above & Beyond, Tommy Trash, Krewella, DVBBS, Tritonal and others. Despite playing opposite one of the bigger names at the festival, they managed to draw in a large crowd unmatched by any other local acts throughout the festivals two days. Soon after playing chasing summer music festival started making their own edits and mash-ups of popular songs. After months of making edits and mash-ups they started to grow tired and set out to create an original track of their own. In the winter of 2014 they had released their first original track titled ‘Who We Are’ which was a collaboration with award nominated Canadian producer Titus1. Sunseekerz have no plans on slowing down anytime soon and are currently working on their second title release. From the very first track to the last; Sunseekerz will leave you in a state of bliss.
