About Fogcutters
The Fogcutters are an electrifying 19-piece big band composed of many of Portland, Maine’s brightest young musical talents, who come from a broad variety of musical backgrounds. Created and rooted in the spirit and great admiration of traditional big band jazz, this big band aims to take the medium to a new place few, if any, big bands dare to explore. Comprised of 13 horns, 5-piece rhythm section and the lush vocals of Megan Jo Wilson and Chas Lester and frequent guests, the band boasts a repertoire of well over 100 songs and adding more all the time! You’ll never see the same show twice. Under the direction of co-leaders John Maclaine and Brian Graham, The Fogcutters pay special attention to the many traditions and unique styles of big band music, but is just as comfortable playing funk, rock, hip-hop and many other styles in original big band arrangements. Where else can you hear the greatest music spanning 90 years in one explosive show? Whatever the style, the Fogcutters will leave you wanting more. Brand New original album "Flotsam" available February 1, 2016
