Seyminhol

Formé en 1990, SEYMINHOL est riche d’une expérience de plus de 25 ans dans le milieu du Heavy Métal Mélodique Underground européen.

En 2002, suite à la sortie de NORTHERN RECITAL, le groupe signe sur le label français Brennus/Musea et obtient plusieurs contrats de licence à l’étranger. C’est pourtant en Russie et dans les pays Baltes que le groupe voit son succès grandir le plus. Largement diffusé en Finlande et accueilli par la presse spécialisée comme un album majeur du style, NORTHERN RECITAL reste la réalisation la plus connue du groupe. En France, ce disque offre également de belles perspectives à Seyminhol. Plusieurs concerts et festivals prestigieux avec VANDEN PLAS, ROYAL HUNT, BLAZE BAYLEY, CLAWFINGER, SAMAEL, VIRGIN STEELE et PAUL DI’ANNO lui assurent une renommée importante.

En 2005, le double album SEPTENTRION’S WALK donne toute la mesure du groupe en Live et propose un nouveau concept ambitieux sur la Scandinavie médiévale. Le disque est présenté à Paris en Avant-Première et reçoit des critiques élogieuses (Hard Rock Magazine, Hard and Heavy, Rock Hard France & Allemagne, Metallian, Crossroad, Break out, etc.).

En 2008, avec OV ASYLUM, le groupe change d’orientation musicale et propose un concept plus moderne avec des sons électroniques. Les compositions permettent au groupe de s’exprimer mieux encore sur scène. Seyminhol ouvre pour CRUCIFIED BARBARA et MASS HYSTERIA. L’album sort en 2009 et deux morceaux apparaissent sur les samplers de Hard Rock Magazine et de Metallian. Metal Obs quant à eux chro­niquent le disque en juin 2009 et en décembre de la même année sort la compilation French Métal qui traduit parfaitement cette évolution.

En juin 2010, Seyminhol décide de faire un break mais début 2013, le projet d’un nouvel album germe dans la tête de ses concepteurs. THE WAYWARD SON annonce un retour aux sources plus que promet­teur. L’arrivée de Thomas Das Neves (ex- Heavenly) au poste de batteur va insuffler davantage de puissance et de technicité à la formation.

L’album THE WAYWARD SON, adaptation du chef d’œuvre « Hamlet » de Shakespeare sort en Juin 2015 chez Brennus Music et reçoit un ex­cellent accueil de la part de l’ensemble des webzines et des magazines spécialisés. Il bénéficie du soutien de Metallian et de Hard Rock Mag sur lesquels un titre est diffusé sur le sampler.

Après une release très remarquée dans la superbe salle des Trinitaires de Metz, l’oppor­tunité est offerte au groupe d’assurer la première partie d’EVERGREY à Thionville le 21 Juin 2015 puis, de participer au Rock’n’roll Train Festival, en compagnie de LACUNA COIL et de Dagoba en août 2016.

À cette occasion, Vianney Habert devient officiellement le nouveau bassiste de la formation. C’est lui qui apparaîtra d’ailleurs sur le clip THE DUELLIST sorti le 21 septembre de la même année. Réalisé par Christian Brémont, ce véritable court-métrage, traité de manière cinématographique, marque un tournant décisif dans la carrière de Seyminhol et annonce une ère de profonds changements.

Courant 2016, parallèlement à plusieurs concerts donnés en France et à l’étranger (Suisse, Luxembourg, Belgique), Seyminhol s’attèle à la composition de son nouvel album intitulé OPHELIANS FIELDS. Celui-ci s'inspire de la figure d'Ophelie et présente la tragédie de Shakespeare sous un angle plus féminin et métaphysique. Composé dans un état d'esprit plus libre, l'album sonne à la fois plus direct et plus progressif tout en proposant un mélange de styles et d'ambiances qui sont la marque de fabrique du groupe.

Produit par Nicolas Pelissier et Kevin Kazek, avec le support de Christian Brémont de la société TECHNICAL SPIRIT qui assure également le mixage final et le mastering, le disque est annoncé pour février 2018 sur le label culte finlandais Lion’s Music. En termes de chant, toutes les gammes vocales sont utilisées. Le groupe puise également dans ses racines rock, hard FM, gothiques, atmosphériques, heavy/thrash et progressives pour proposer un album sans concession et sans commune mesure avec tout ce qu'il a pu réaliser par le passé.

Mais le leitmotiv défendu par les membres fondateurs reste le même : l'émotion, comme en témoigne un nouveau clip à paraître en janvier 2018 intitulé BEHIND THE MASK qui installe, dès les premières images, une atmosphère à la fois puissante et romantique.

Created in 1990, SEYMINHOL have a large experience, more than 25 years ago, in the European under­ground melodic heavy metal scene.
In 2002, following the release of NORTHERN RECITAL, the band signed with Brennus/Musea French label and have been licensed for sale in foreign countries. So it was in Russia and in Baltic States that the band had the most success. Broadcasted in Finland and welcomed by press such as a reference for the style, NORTHERN RECITAL is always the most well-recognized album for the band. In France, this disc offered to the band a lot of wonderful plans. Several concerts and prestigious festival with VANDEN PLAS, ROYAL HUNT, BLAZE BAYLEY, CLAWFINGER, SAMAEL, VIRGIN STEELE and PAUL DI’ANNO provides a certain notoriety.
In 2005, the double album SEPTENTRION’S WALK was be able to show us the real band talent in “live”. This second album proposes an ambitious concept on the medieval Scandinavia. The disc was presented in preview in Paris and received glowing reviews by the specialized press (Hard Rock Magazine, Hard and Heavy, Rock Hard France & Allemagne, Metallian, Crossroad, Break out, etc.).
In 2008, with OV ASYLUM, the band totally changed its orientation and proposed a most modern concept with electronic sounds. With these new compositions, the band was better able to express itself on the scene. So SEYMINHOL was the first part for several famous bands like: CRUCIFIED BARBARA and MASS HYSTERIA. This album released in 2009 and 2 singles was broadcasted by Hard Rock Magazine and Metallian sampler. Metal Obs shared with all the community an article with his great thoughts about this new realization. In December of the same year, the compilation French Metal released and confirmed the band statute.
In June 2010, SEYMINHOL decided to have a break, but at the beginning of 2013, a new ambitious project was born. WAYWARD SON will announce an attrac­tive and successful return of the band. The arrival of a new drummer Thomas DAS NEVES (Ex-Heavenly) should encourage the band and give a new breath.
The album THE WAYWARD SON, adaptation of the masterpiece “Hamlet” by Shakespeare released in June 2015 among Brennus Music and receives an excellent reception on the part of all the cheekiest of webzines and specialty magazines. It enjoys the support of Metallian and Hard Rock mag on which a title is broadcast in the sampler.
After a very noticed release in the beautiful venue of the Trinitaires in Metz, the band had the chance to open a show for EVERGREY in Thionville on June 21st 2015 and play at Rock’n’roll Train Festival with LACUNA COIL and DAGOBA in August 2016. On this occasion, Vianney Habert officially became the new bass player of the band. He appears in the video THE DUELLIST that came out on September 21st of the same year. Realized by Christian Brémont, a short film shot as a movie, is a major turning point in the career of the band and represents a new era.

In the year 2016, along with concerts given in France and abroad (Luxemburg, Switzerland, Belgium), Seyminhol starts writing the new album called OPHELIANS FIELDS. It is inspired by Ophelie and shows the tragedy of Shakespeare through a female and metaphysical lens. Composed with a free state of mind, the album is more direct and more progressive, offering a large combination of styles and atmospheres, signature of the band.
Produced by Nicolas Pelissier and Kevin Kazek, with the help of Christian Brémont for the final mixing and the mastering, the record is planned for February 2018, under the famous Finnish label Lion’s Music.
In terms of singing, all vocal ranges are used. The band also finds inspiration in its rock, hard FM, gothic, atmospheric, heavy/thrash and progressive roots to offer an uncompromising record, incomparable with what the band has already done in the past.

The leitmotiv of the founding members remains the same: emotion, as you will see in the new video called BEHIND THE MASK, available in January 2018. The first images will show you a powerful and dramatic atmosphere.
