The Sisters of Mercy

Having seen the Sisters over many a decade, was looking forward to the gig, but with no expectation that it would be as good. What a shocker, charismatic as always, voice sounds better than loads of the gigs on YouTube. Really liked how the arrangement of the songs have all been slightly changed. The Saxaphone was a really good addition. Kai whilst very new to the Sisters, did herself proud. Ben was as expected, exceptional. What can I say about Andrew, he is a god in human form. Was high in the top balcony, great view but lyrics didn't travel as well up there. But no complaints as my choice to avoid the packed floor. From the few videos of the night I have seen the sound was amazing from the floor area.

It was a great show really enjoyed myself even got myself a set list the venue was very good first time at the Marble Factory nice & open so you didn't get to hot Sisters of mercy were not disappointing

(English tranlation below) Très bonne ambiance dans une salle suffisamment petite pour bien voir. La balance de la voix était très mauvaise, on entendait surtout la musique. Bons guitaristes. Pas de bassiste, dommage. Les morceaux joués n'étaient pas tous les meilleurs, il en manquait beaucoup des débuts du groupe. D'autres morceaux étaient très bien et non publiés à ma connaissance. La Cigale est un peu vétuste, les toilettes ridicules, des personnes qui n'avaient pas payé pour les balcons étaient libres de venir et bouchaient la vue de ceux qui étaient assis. Great atmosphere in a room small enough to see well. The vocal balance was very poor, you could hear most of the music. Good guitarists. No bass player, too bad. The songs played weren't all the best, and many from the band's early days were missing. Other songs were very good, but unreleased as far as I know. La Cigale is a bit old-fashioned, the toilets ridiculous, people who hadn't paid for the balconies were free to come in and block the view of those seated.

terrific setlist, split almost exactly in half between recorded 'hits' and 'new live' unreleased songs (quite high proportion imho, last time I saw them in paris there were just a few 'new' songs'). eldrich hiding from the lights during all the show)) transbo, as always, a great venue.

Awesome. Brought back so many feelings from thirty years ago and longer. Always one of my favourites. And the Roundhouse has become my favourite London venue, where I get to see my beloved rock bands and to mix with “my people, my crowd”. Thank you

They needed WAY more tracks up front, front go got great vocals and guitar, and then absolute garbage bass and drums. That said... Holy crap were they good. Like, minor mixing issues for front row but surprisingly strong vocals, and Andrew seemed in a pleasant mood. Ben's guitar work is so so good. It was the day Trump's indictment was announced and they added 'Dominion' back to the setlist to honor it. Andrew joked during the intro "someone's going to jail. It isn't me."

Last night, I attended the most recent show of The Sisters of Mercy, marking my seventh time seeing them live since my first experience back in 1990. As a touring musician myself, I've encountered various venues where the sound quality was lacking, despite it being their primary responsibility alongside security. Frustratingly, I even took matters into my own hands, handling the entire sound setup and providing the house stereo outs, only to witness them somehow still mishandling it. However, considering the fact that Andrew Eldritch, the band's founding member, is now 62 and continues to grace us with his presence on stage, it's truly awe-inspiring. I commend The Sisters of Mercy and all the dedicated professionals involved in their performances. Despite the occasional shortcomings, they persist and give their best efforts. It's rare to witness individuals who have not only created a genre but also remain embedded within it for decades. Alongside the likes of Christo, Dylan, and Ravi Devi, these supporters contribute to an invaluable network of friends. I can only hope to have such companions in my own musical journey when I reach my 60s.

Good concert. Love the venue. The sound system is so much better than Roadrunner. Free and bottled water. Loved the Sisters, I think that we're all getting old.

HA! It was kind of awful, but I had a great time. A lot of the music was "canned", sound was not great, lots of feedback... was it worth missing The Cure and The Damned? 🤔 Yeeeaaahhh, Sisters is one of my favorites and always will be.

Without expectation too high, due to the year and lack of original members, I was still let down overall. Im a superfan who still listens to their first gen EP’s and Album, there is so much beautiful work. The main problem was Andrew’s signing. I don’t know if he just can’t sing the notes anymore, or if he just felt like growling…but there was very little resembling the recordings. then there was the uber cleche band mates…the lack of instrument leveling and sound balance… to top it off, instead of slowing the original 80s tempo, and highlighting the beauty and darkness within the songs, someone thought it was a good idea to speed up the tempo instead, you know, make it more “dancy”. Ugh. The song they played closest to the original was Temple of Love, and without the cheesy female vocalist that the remaster imposed upon us. Now I will have to try to erase these things from my mind when I listen lol. still love you guys anyway!

The first few songs were mostly sung by the guitarist, Andrew said something to one of his crew and they adjusted his mike. I was a great show from there. Covered all their hits plus some obscure ones. Glad I saw them after all these years.

Way too crowded (to the point that the doors to the lobby had to be left open because people were standing there), and a lot of sound issues (feedback, mic being off for half a song). I ended up watching the show on a tv screen behind the bar because that’s all I could see from where I could get to in the room. I could’ve done that at home. Not the bands fault though at all, they were great. The Fillmore dropped the ball on this one.

Excellent gig ... great mix of old and new songs. I had a great view upstairs and managed to take a few good shots and vids. The band seemed to be enjoying themselves, especially the new songs - which are great. The sound in the academy is a bit hit and miss sometimes, but it was fairly good tonight. Von’s vocals are often too low, but that would be his choice. Which leaves us with muffled parts of songs. Although as we know them .. we get by. Good lights, good crowd. Great mix of songs. Glad I went.

Light show was terrible. No downlighting meant that the band was playing in the dark most of the time. Also who were those guys anyway? Presumably hired guns by the original singer. Would have been good to have been introduced to them and a bit of onstage banter. Otherwise it was the best Sisters of Mercy tribute band that I have seen

Great show, great venue. The singer did seem a bit somewhat quiet for the first 3 songs but when i was getting worried that we were going to hear more vocals out of the guitarists he let loose and really set the house on fire! Had a awesome night, definitely worth it...

The support band 'The Membranes' were really good, but don't think that the majority of the crowd really got them. As for The Sisters of Mercy, they were fantastic played for 1 1/2 non-stopped and did most of the fan favourites. Only three things let the evening down Way too much smoke/dry ice - for a lot of their set you could only see 1 guitarist on stage. The sound wasn't the best - from where I was standing it was sometimes hard to understand what was being said or sung on the stage. The crowd - I honestly don't know why many of the crowd was there, didn't dance, didn't sing along and didn't even clap at the end of songs, or even at the end of the set - very disappointing crowd

The Membranes were sadly underwhelming for a punk band, and the Sisters powered through their set with barely a word said to the audience. Having said that, the audience were offish and largely passive, so perhaps that was putting the band off. Final song came and went and it was 'lights up, go home', which was slightly sad. Still a band checked off my bucket list, so can't complain!

one of the best shows from the Sisters, ever! excellent playlist. very enthusiastic audience, it made the band members smile, Andrew even bowed at the end. very special concert. thank you, SOM.

would of been helpful to know before 5mins before doors open theat no camera's were alowed in to the building
