Rock Boy Fresh is a God-inspired band, whom is commissioned to spread the love of Christ to all nations, and to be walking examples of God's grace. Rock Boy Fresh, whose name is inspired by scripture is Rock which means Christ is our foundation, Boy means that you must humble yourself as a child, and fresh exemplifies newness of life. Given the name Rock Boy Fresh to Joseph Dessesseau Jr.a.k.a Joe BlacQ (M.C.), in early 2011, the group was initially formed with Gordon Walters (lyricist/piano), and Anthony Jackson. While journeying through the year making their name and message known, the group was re-vamped in 2012 with Joseph Dessesseau Jr., Gordon Walters & Alexandra Alise adopting the band such as Larry Martin (drummer), Josh Boyd (guitar), Byron Walters (bass), accompanying background vocalists: Reco West and Brianna Green to complete the sound of Rock Boy Fresh. Inspired by various genres of music, R.B.F. does not claim one distinctive sound. "When you hear our music, you may hear a little Rock, Neo-Soul, Pop, etc... but we do not claim one sound; we produce Jesus music; much diversity." claims J. Dessesseau Jr. With their released song Ready for War which turned into an anthem for many, as they convey the message of endurance, patience, and determination.
