BIOGRAPHY: The musical phenomenon called Zetod was born in 2003 as a youth band founded by Kristjan Priks, an alumnus of the Viljandi Culture Academy, in Värska, deep in the heart of Setomaa in Southeastern Estonia. The idea to have young Seto boys rendering their native culture in the key of pop rock seemed novel at the time and has led to a success never before experienced by arrangers of traditional music in Estonia. Zetod are a bunch of strapping lads with an exotic flair of rich cultural heritage, which the blandness of the surrounding mainstream pop only serves to accentuate. This, complemented by charming stage presence, instrumental finesse and tastefully witty yet powerful electric string arrangements of folk songs and tunes, sparks excitement and recognition even in listeners less familiar with heritage music. Прикс, будучи выпускником Вильяндиской Культурной Академии (Эстония) по классу фольклорной музыки, решил создать группу из молодых людей, представляющих финно-угорскую народность seto (рус «сету» или «сето»). Название группы Zetod также созвучно с названием этой народности. Целью было создать уникальную сетускую группу в стиле фолк-рок и добиться неповторимого звучания путем объединения сетуских народных мотивов и элементов поп-рока. Zetod – веселые, приятные молодые люди, умеющие покорить публику своим шармом и отличным чувством юмора! Зрителей не оставят равнодушными красочные, сделанные со вкусом и изобретательностью аранжировки народных песен и мелодий сету. Ансамбль Zetod - долгожданный гость на всех фестивалях фольклорной музыки в Эстонии, различных фестивалях рок-музыки. За годы деятельности группа успела выступить во многих странах: в США, Латвии, Литве, Швеции, Финляндии, Франции, Бельгии, Польше и России (в Казани). В состав Zetod входят: Ялмар Вабарна (Jalmar Vabarna) – вокал, акустическая гитара, электронная гитара, гармошка; Януc Вискар– бас-гитара, вокал; Мартин Кютть – ударные; Артур Линнус (Artur Linnus) – вокал, аккордеон; Матис Лейма (Matis Leima) – вокал, скрипка, гармошка.
