Ash Grunwald

How one man can make so much music is incredible. I had a great time. Come back Ash and family. Bought a CD too. The support and warm up act, Kathleen Halloran was out of this world. At times she reached such highs it was as if she was doing a guitar duet with the universe - her playing to the universe and the universe playing back through her. What an absolute force. I can see why Ash gave her a chance, I really can. Ffar Out! Kathleen and Ash together during Ash's set was a real treat. I wasn't ready to go home. I had a great time. Great venue, great atmosphere, local musicians, what's not to like???? Couldn't recommend more highly.

We enjoyed Julian James more than Ash. Ash was much of a muchness. Too much auditorium involvement and clapping but not enough song variety. Also they started half an hour late and the cafe opened late too

What a wonderful show! Thank you Ash for coming all the way to Warrnambool to perform. Of course the music was fabulous, but the show was engaging and personal. It was my husband's first time hearing you play live and he was most impressed. We look forward to the next time you are down our way and will definitely come to your show again . Seen hom on Thursday night at Big Easy Radio and he was pretty awesome so i had to take the miss Sunday night to the Gov anf he was just as good again. Definitely see him again and again

Due to inclement weather, gig was moved to the Western Port Pub in San Remo. Plenty of communication was sent advising of the change. The gig itself was fantastic and full of energy. Ash always brings his own energy and enthusiasm and dials up the fun factor to maximum levels. Looking forward to seeing him again.

Once again another awesome gig by Ash’s. The energy he brings is a credit to him and his musicianship is second to none. Thanks for a great show!!!

Thanks for a fabulous nights entertainment. Ash is a complete artist and storyteller, who brings the crowd together and weaves them into his show. The energy was contagious.

So great to have a top Aussie blues musician play in bright! Despite the wet weather, Ash and his support act Kate pushed ahead and put on an awesome show playing through the rain and getting the audience to engage and dance till the end. Had a great night listening to Kate shred soulfully on her guitar, Ash as always delivered a killer set of his sing along blues hits with plenty of face melting guitar runs as well 👌🏼

It was outside in the rain. I didn’t read the fine print to gain this insight. Ash Grunwald at Bright Courthouse Theatre. Why would you look further to see if it was in doors. Sound was average. Meh

Ash performed 1 of the best shows I've seen in years. It was a lot of fun!! He was very personable and full of energy. If you ever get the chance you must see him perform live

What a great entertainer! Everything about the show was great. He was very engaging with the crowd, great voice, great guitar work. The singer/guitarist support on first - Julian James - was also fantastic. Definitely recommend to get along and support Ash when he hits your town.

Top venue, Resin Brewing in Bulli and was VERY impressed by Ash Grunwald, he interacts so well with the crowd and his tunes are so good. He is great solo and would be even better with a full band

what a fantastic family event, a perfect evening of great talent topped off by an awesome performance from Ash, Bobby and ?(sorry cant remember the guitarists name) Such a memorable evening.

Ash is a unique muso, his show was brilliant because he is strong, passionate, and gives his all. He is original and true to himself. A gr8t Australian talent and home grown. Just loved this show. I found the bar staff near the mirror wall rude n impatient not a good look for Eumundi. I suggest eftpos and one more person as they seemed overwhelmed to me.

On a Friday night with four of our five household members out on the town, what’s a to do? Options: go and watch the three-hour Taylor Swift film on the proviso of pretending not to know my twin daughters, or consult the Bands In Town app? I opt for the latter, and here we are at Lizottes! Piper Butcher is only 19 years old, but sings like someone with many more years on the clock. The one-time Australian Idol Top 24 contestant describes her original material as in the alternative, Americana and blues vein. Butcher has soaring vocals, incredible vocal control, with range from a husky growl to a soaring falsetto, and a catch in her voice to die for on the way there and back. With just her voice and a percussive strumming hand on her guitar, Butcher can more than hold her own on stage. Great chats between songs with the audience: With only a couple of weeks to go until Brian Lizotte hands over the keys to Kings Theatre, Butcher tells us she’s been “pestering Brian for years” for a start - she started gigging at 11. Then another cute story about singing the next song since the age of two on the SingStar game on her PlayStation (Tainted Love) with a slinky groove. Butcher was fun and the perfect hype guy for Grunwald, who invites her on stage later for a duet (one planned, the other sprung). Big things on the horizon for this one. Like Butcher, Ash Grunwald takes the opportunity to thank Brian Lizotte and wife Jo for the venue they’ve built and their years of support. This is my first time seeing Grunwald live, and was not expecting how funny he is on stage. From songs like “The Dolphin Song”, a crowd favourite, to moments that cause him to erupt into giggles. Grunwald is a charmer, but also a bit of a musical chameleon. His set is a grab bag of blues, gospel and acoustic rock. With a quiver of guitars, from acoustics to wide and solid body electric, Grunwald like Piper is another one-person band, but perched on one one of those drum box things for a stool, he also has a couple of foot pedals for rhythm. One is connected to a kick drum, the other seems to be connected to the equivalent of a snare drum but run through effects pedals. He sits, he stands, he switches from acoustic to electric mid song to go into Wah Wah overdrive. He encourages the audience to sing along in the chorus, and we do so with gusto. He invites Butcher impromptu to join him on “I’m Only Human (After All)”; very popular choice with the audience; and another duet, the Bill Withers cover “Ain’t No Sunshine”., a collection of Bluesfest recordings. Grunwald has projects, left right and centre, including a joint recording project he released with Josh Teskey, a ripping original “You Ain’t My Problem Anymore” with a blistering solo. Hard core Grunwald fans are out of their seats now, hooting/hollerin. His latest 2022’s “Shout Into The Noise” features some filthy feedback and slippery bottle neck slide guitar, followed by “Think About Myself”, deep in the gospel blues terrain. I skip out the door as Grunwald is still playing, stopping by the merch desk to pick up a CD, while a surfer dude eyes off an impressive array of merchandise, including branded towels, board shorts, CDs, vinyl, a book and yes, even Grunwald “grundies”. And to think I could have spent three hours watching Taylor Swift? Five stars! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

It was my first time seeing Ash Grunwald, he was absolutely incredible. His voice is truly amazing, sounds bloody amazing live, and I loved his stories. What a true entertainer he is.

Intimate gig but laid back just Ash on stage , crowd very familiar with Ash and it showed. I really want him to get a full band back again though for an up beat gig we can dance to.

Ash puts on the funnest show ever! You can't help but shake it to his amazing rhythms and climactic build-ups. His guitar playing is mesmerizing and that VOICE! He is one crazy talented artist. Thanks Ash for being so awesome and such a humble, cool person. ?
