Combining post rock influences with blistering melodies and snarled vocals, SecondHeart has evolved from a two-piece acoustic duo under the name Almost Everything. Switching from acoustic to electric (and obtaining a drummer) the band adopted the name A Scarlet Obsession and began tearing up stages at Club 299, Fat Louie’s, and The Living Room. But after a few line-up changes, it became apparent that the band had become something else entirely, so after many long brainstorming sessions, they hit upon the perfect name (and matching logo) that the entire band could agree on. Now leading the way with his strong, guttural vocals, Chris Heath (ex-Garthum/Lagerstein) delivers the goods with poetic aggression weaving tales of monsters, repression, folklore, insanity, and more. Robbie Callanan (Pistols of Dawn) drives the beat with his throttling, machine-gun grooves. Stevie Rebel (Burn Down Hollywood/The Jon Experiment) brings a second voice to the mix, playing guitar alongside Nick Draney (Gestalt) sharing lead/rhythm guitar roles respectively. Last but not least, long-time member Garrick Mackay ties it all together, providing a strong, sexy bass hook to the mix. There are not many bands that are quite like SecondHeart, and they wouldn't have it any other way. Proudly supporting and inspired by their local scene, they strive to contribute to the musical voice of Australia that is forever growing stronger.
