About Ironside

TLDR = Garage, beer, blues, rock, and whiskey. Somewhere between Clutch, Nashville Pussy, and The Black Keys. Originating in Brisbane, Ironside are a straight up, blues and garage rock 'n' roll band who send audiences into a convulsing, toe tapping, head bobbing frenzy whenever they perform their infectiously raucous set. Having returned from a whirlwind tour of the U.K. in May 2012, playing a massive 3 shows at Liverpool Sound City Festival, the band can proudly boast having graced the stage with such bands as Jackson Firebird, DZ Deathrays, reformed seminal Australian punk-band ‘X’, Doubleblack (Melb), The Prehistorics (Syd), Midget (Melb), Front End Loader (Syd), Violent Soho, HITS, and Giants of Science, and Adelaide's vintage punk rockers Grong Grong, the only Australian band to be signed to Alternative Tentacles. After the rather unfortunate departure of drummer Graham (we lost him somewhere in Liverpool), Ironside welcomed aboard Ben 'MC Bang Bang' Rice on the skins, raising the band to new levels. Like Daniel and Darren, he sports very appropriate facial hair and has a similar enthusiasm for beer and blues! Ironside worked closely with Murray Paas from Foundry Sound (the original one, not the current one) to produce an album to back up their debut 5-track E.P. (mastered by Donovan Miller from No Anchor/Nowhere Records, independently released through Mood Vertigo Records and via bandcamp.com in April 2012).
