About Aaron McDonnell
Infused with a classic country flavor, Aaron McDonnell has a sound you remember but have never heard before. Over the past several years, he has established himself as one of the premier neo- traditional country acts in Texas having multiple top 40 hits, and playing over 1500 shows.
He released a full length album "Too Many Days Like Saturday Night" in February 2022 to critical acclaim, and continues to push musical boundaries with his new EP in 2023 entitled “You Drive Back” and 2024 LP " Midnight Pool Mix". He has toured in Ireland and the UK as well as around the United States, and is currently signed to Austin based Feels So Good Records.
"Imagine a country music universe built around the moody experience of Dwight Yoakam’s song “1000 Miles From Nowhere,” or the dour music of 90’s Chris Issak. Then infuse it with just enough 80’s-inspired New Wave goth to make it even more unique and nostalgic. This is the world where the songs of Too Many Days Like Saturday Night reside, and it’s as transportive as it is entertaining.”
- Saving Country Music
"Thanks to his butter-soft baritone and a thick layer of dreamy pedal steel, Aaron McDonnell makes music ideal for gliding around the dance floor in a beer-soaked haze. Even while dipping into forlorn moods, the songs feel like a warm little flame to crowd around, a spell that evokes a little more tenderness as you sway with your partner."
- Austin Monthly Magazine
“In the crowded Texas country field, McDonnell stands out as one of the most natural talents to rise out of Austin in years.”
– Peter Blackstock, Austin-American Statesman / Co-founder – No Depression
