Rob Mostert Hammond Group

Rob Mostert was born in 1965. He is one of the Netherlands’ top Hammond players and performs at festivals and well-known jazz venues. His brother taught him how to play the organ at the age of eight; around the same time, he found an old Jimmy Smith record in his parents’ collection and fell immediately in love. After graduating Hammond organ from the Alkmaar Conservatory in 1988, Rob added piano jazz and pop to his range.
Recently, Rob has been touring with great artists like world-famous guitarist Jan Akkerman and many more.

In February 2010 Rob recorded his first solo album "Englewood Cliffs Sessions" at the legendary Rudy Van Gelder recording studio. This record immediately received raving critics and shows all over the world were booked. Rob tours with his Hammond group, consisting of Chris Strik,
Tom Klein and Charlotte Coppola.
In collaboration with the artist collective the
Blue Noise Department, Rob tours with Heartbeat of the Hammond, in theaters
(theater season 2011/2012) and at festivals.


Harlem Recordings now proudly presents the second album of the Rob Mostert Hammond Group titled, ‘Go Big Or Go Home‘. The first single, ‘Go Big Or Go Home‘, is a track composed by Rob Mostert together with vocalist Charlotte Coppola.

For this new album Rob really went Big! A funky horn section was added to his original Hammond trio and as always the vocals where taken care of by the experienced and very talented singer Charlotte Coppola. The now 7-headed Rob Mostert Hammond Group combines traditional jazz roots with an exciting mix of soul and sexy funk. Rob is one of the best Hammond players in Europe and one of the few still playing the footbass with his bare feet.

Jimmy Smith, Jimmy McCriff, J.S. Bach, Herbie Hancock, Oscar Peterson, Billy Preston, Stevie Wonder, Jack McDuff.
