About The Darkside

Do you crave 80s alternative music from The Cure, Depeche Mode, and the Smiths? Do you sometimes find yourself humming a particular famous song from Simple Minds? If you find yourself too familiar with the names Jake Ryan, Samantha Baker, and Long Duk Dong, then you'll probably appreciate our idea of a good time.

The Darkside was formed in late 2014 by Red House Studios to satisfy the demand for alternative 80s music in the east bay area. From songs that delve into the obscure through more popular songs that harken back to the new wave days of MTV, the band has given these songs new life. Several gigs later, they have attracted a loyal following through their combination of well-known hooks, keytar action, and toe-tapping lyrics.
