About Broadcast
Broadcast are both a British electronic pop band and a Finnish pop group from the 80s.
Trish Keenan and James Cargill are the duo known as Broadcast from Birmingham, UK.
Their initial influence was the psychedelic band The United States of America. Over the years their sound has evolved from a mixture of 60's pop with 60's film score music, and recently modern electronic elements, into what is now a relatively minimalistic sound. Keenan's vocals (think Françoise Hardy) are hauntingly beautiful against Cargill's inspired instrumentation, ranging from pulsating electronic bursts to simple acoustic arrangements.
Broadcast is also finnish pop/rock group even they are not together today, just in pause. They are well-known also in Europe.
