Kids with Beards

If Kids with Beards was a plant, they would be a perennial. Richard, Kat and Evan have been crafting their songs over the course of the last four years in brief and concentrated bursts collaborating in Bismarck, North Dakota. The instrumentation began modestly, channeling folk roots with rhythm guitar, upright bass, and ever-present harmonies. This composition remains at the heart of the band, but has since expanded to include percussion, glockenspiel, and mellotron giving the trio it’s unique texture. The lyrics and the melodies that drive them express something universal and bittersweet. The music itself strikes a balance that is both momentous and delicate. The resulting sound inevitably pulls at the heart strings. Kids With Beards released an EP in 2012, and look forward to the debut of their first full length album recorded at Makoche Studios.
