About Capeside

Pop-rockers Capeside formed in late 2013 after a chance meeting between Matt Conaghan & Simon McNamara who’d played in bands throughout high school together and missed making music after getting “real jobs”. Citing influences such as Dashboard Confessional, City & Colour and Blink 182 they took the studio with friend and local Newcastle drummer extraordanaire Rhys Zacher, where the trio produced their first EP “Phoenix”, gaining national and international airplay as well as providing the three-piece the opportunity to support artists such as This Wild Life, Everclear, Jonny Craig (Emarosa, Dance Gavin Dance), Joey Cape (Lagwagon, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes), D At Sea, Jebediah and Closure In Moscow to name a few. In between playing countless live shows the trio wrote their full-length debut album “Atlantis”, released in October 2014, gaining critical acclaim citing the bands infectious melodic hooks, Conaghan’s captivating heart-felt lyrics and an individuality in their music, making their debut one to remember. 2015 saw the band expand with the welcomed addition of heart-throb Mitch Grob to cement their line up bringing a bigger, richer, live sound much to the delight of women everywhere. Currently Capeside are writing their sophomore album which will be out in the summer of ‘16. youtube.com/CapesideOfficial Instagram @CapesideOfficial Twitter @CapesideHQ https://capesideband.bandcamp.com
