About The EightyEightyEights (8088s)

A modern take on 80's synth-pop that's pays homage to it's roots while creating a dynamic, fun sound you can still sing along with and dance your best 80's white kid dance to. The Eighty eighty eights have been referred to as "80's synth-pop on human growth hormones", and not just because 2/3 of the band are morbidly obese. In 2001 Kale Walker and Justin McGovern formed Celsius with other members and were soon joined by Luke Sims. Shortly after Luke joining the band, obvious differences forced them to go their separate ways. Justin, Kale, and Luke soon formed Suspicious Vehicle, a bazaar twisted take on many genres that included several retakes on 80's synth-pop songs. Suspicious Vehicle played several shows but the band eventually decided to take a different direction. Soon after they Became "Mr Miyagi and the Karate Kids, and had several different members including Adam Harding, and Chris Large. They eventually changed their name to the 8088's after the first microprocessor featured in IBM's first home computer released to the public in 1981. Kale left the band to seek fame and fortune in the middle of nowhere utah (we miss you buddy), quickly after Mike "the Brick" Brickell filled Kale's long worn shoes and the rest is music history. The Eighty Eighty Eights combine 80's synth-pop classics with contemporary funk and hard rock style.
