About Leroy Horns
Stacked saxophones, electronic beats and bars that have more than four beats in them. Fans of Comet is Coming, Charles Mingus and Aphex Twin will want to wrap their ears around this new solo project from Brighton based Leroy Horns.
“Transients”, Leroy’s first solo album, delves into a world where blips, bleeps and bass are combined with wildly ferocious yet often tender sax improvisation. It tells the story of his transformative journey of introspection and resilience, where music served as the conduit for connection and self-discovery.
Leroy has been a street performer, busked around the world, run away with the circus, been a close-up magician, a founding member of UK Dub Reggae band Resonators and has played extensively across the UK and Europe sharing stages with legends Jimmy Cliff, Horace Andy and Lee 'Scratch” Perry. Drawing on this wide musical and theatrical background his current project and debut solo album "Transience" has already gained support from Jazz FM’s Dom Servini.
Leroy's work is always authentic, different and engaging, a pure joy to experience.
