Henry Kapono

I only got to stay for first half . The heat was almost unbearable but worth to hear Henry again. Only heard one original and so many covers. Missed the old originals. Hopefully I’ll get to stay longer next time.

Henry’s shows are always electric and full of Aloha vibes! Whether he collaborates with other musical stars or it’s his very passionate band, which consists of Lopaka, Wendall, and will. Sometimes special guests sit in from time to time! Henry is an extraordinary musician and songwriter!

Henry and Keola wowed with a performance that not only showcased their incredible musical talents, but delivered a comedic and heartfelt journey back to some of their earliest songwriting. The spirit of Aloha they spread, along with the magic of the Islands will bring you peace and perspective to live by and share. Outstanding!

Henry Kopono was a class act always has been and always will be. There are a few suggestions that I have I was in the center third row back and I felt there were some mics that were returned way up and some that were turned way down I felt the mixing was poorly done. The young gal Rebecca James’ mike was so low. You couldn’t hear hardly anything she sang, either solo or with the group. The base was incredibly loud and overbearing the bass player was very good, but it was too loud It almost seemed that an a cappella evening would have been better for this venue or if microphones and amplification are to be used they need to be mixed better Otherwise, it was a lovely evening with a lot of good feelings - three cheers to Henry Kopono for passing it on.

Henry Kapono was beyond amazing! He and his band are extremely talented musicians and the vibe they create at Dukes on Sunday is fantastic! In fact, we traveled from Australia to Hawaii to attend this gig 😎

The setting in the Zoo, was perfect for this event. The support Mr. Kapono gives young new artists is priceless. The performance went very well, culminating with Henry’s new song “Island Love”, which was truly amazing! We hope soars to the top of charts and goes viral!

Aloha Henry - Your concert at Duke's was the highlight of our 10 day getaway to Oahu and Kauai. So good you hear and feel your great music and energy! My b/d is 11/10/48...good to see you're still playing strong, enjoying playing to us, and bringing us the joy of our youth. So many wonderful memories of the friends I've known and beauty of Hawaii come across in your performance. I was with you, Cee, and Wendell Ing yrs ago at gigs in Seattle and visited your place in Agoura. You're a cool guy with kind spirit. My wife Theresa, a rock singer from North Carolina, loves you too. Wishing you and your family all the best. Wanted to come say hi after you played at Duke's, but had to attend to our daughter Lissa who was ill. See you next time we're at Dukes, on the big island or maybe Jazz Alley in Seattle? Henry and friends put on a great show! They make you feel like Ohana. They take time for pictures, autographs and chats even after performing. Seeing him perform was a bucket list item and he did not disappoint!

The night was full of spirit and young talent against the backdrop of the Henry Kapono band! Amazing performance!

Real nice guy we had the meet and greet before the concert and his friends are fantastic great concert!!!

We had the opportunity to see Henry, along with Jake Shimabukuro Tradewinds and Rainbows Tour in Napa CA the evening prior 6/29 which was more than We could have imagined. So seeing Henry again the following evening at Dukes Waikiki. . . . Priceless ❤️

Henry Kapono concert was just Amazing. He sang all his songs, it was very nice. Please next time make future concerts indoors during the summer. It was just miserable being in the heat even though it was 8:00 pm. It was still very hot. Thank you for those fans. Overall Concert was Great !! (because it was uncomfortable in that heat). I wouldn't want to go to another concert in that heat during July.

It was excellent. Henry performed better than ever! I loved how he included local musicians to sing with and hArmonize..

We thought we were going to a Hawaiian music concert. My husband was stationed on Oahu in the Navy in the early 70's, and really enjoyed the music of the Beamer Brothers, one of whom was named Kapono. But, this was not him...lol! This concert was Henry Kapono and friends. So we just went with the flow. Henry Kapono and Alex Kawakami were more of a Loggins & Messina woven with the flavor and playful feel of Hawaii. Both are excellent guitarists. One feels transported to the Islands, back in a time with less hustle and bustle, with Henry's sweet stories growing up on the island of Oahu. It's easy to fall in love with his "Aloha" spirit, and find yourself joining in the sing-along choruses with the hall filled with his fan/friends/"family."
