About Stuart Woolfenden
Stuart Woolfenden is a 21 year old solo artist based in Birmingham. His music is pop with influences from punk and rock, creating catchy hooks decorated with punchy guitars and driving drum beats. His new single 'Waste Your Time' was played twice on Amazing Radio by Jim Gellatly in January 2018, and he performed ahead of Ed Sheeran's sold out concert in April 2017 on the Firestone Stage at the Barclaycard Arena.
Woolfenden has had a total of 13 original songs played on BBC Introducing, including on his local station BBC Introducing Hereford and Worcester by Andrew Marston, and 1 song played on BBC Radio 6 by Tom Robinson. In November 2015, he did a BBC Introducing session and performed 4 original songs, which was aired on his local station. In 2016, he was shortlisted by Jamal Edwards MBE (founder of SBTV), Maisie Williams (Game Of Thrones), and Rob Da Bank (Founder of Bestival) to open the main stage of Bestival along with 9 other artists. At age 16, he was also shortlisted by Birmingham Mail to open for James Blunt at the Barclaycard Arena.
Woolfenden has done an abundance of gigs and festivals across the West Midlands and beyond. He has performed at the NEC in Birmingham as part of the National Rock and Pop Festival. He also performed at Rock The House at The Bedford in Balham, South London after being put forward to represent his constituency by his local MP.
As well as this, Woolfenden has played at the O2 Academy in Birmingham three times, The Robin 2 twice in Wolverhampton supporting Dave McPherson of InMe, and It’s A Beautiful Day from San Francisco. He has also played at numerous festivals including Lakefest (invited by the BBC for his 'contribution to local music scene'), Godiva Festival, Sunshine Festival and more.
