John Gracie

John Gracie has travelled the globe with his music - from Doha to New York, Iceland to Tokyo! He has been singing since he was a boy- a talent his mother discovered as he sang behind the coal stove at three in his home in Glace Bay on Cape Breton Island.

A gifted singer/songwriter, John's music has spanned various genres and styles, folk, country, celtic and swing/jazz.

His special Tribute to Gene MacLellan was heralded as a Canadian favourite and his two Christmas albums are Canadian best sellers- "nobody does Christmas like John Gracie"

Gracie was once asked by a journalist why his recordings were so diverse, he answered by saying, “Why would anyone who loves all music, perform only one genre of music?” The interviewer replied, “To be successful!” Gracie was floored by this response. He has always said that success at any cost, was hardly success, he is happy with his decisions, he sings and writes what he enjoys and is never bored. The journey has been an interesting one with no regrets.

The journey continues as Gracie is set to release his 13th album Fly Me to the Moon- a live recording of great swing standards.
