Love the Melvins! Long time fan. Was an incredible show. The Melvins are rock and rolls best kept secret they are a national treasure. People say the Ramones had the wall of sound that hit you that was unique to them. Ive seen both bands. The Melvins create the wall of sound as well, they are a band you need to see live.

Really brilliant for Melvins & Redd Kross to tour together, since Dale Crover and Steven McDonald have been in both bands in recent years. Catch em both on this tour and you'll see the versatility they have, especially those two guys. A freakin blast!

For some reason, I thought Melvins were headlining this show so I was surprised to see that they were opening for Napalm Death. This is probably the 8th or 9th show I've seen them at the Paradise over the years. Let's just say that the place was jam fucking packed for Melvins... and it thinned out a bit for Napalm Death to the point we penetrated into the GA section (impossible while Melvins were on). Napalm still had a large energetic crowd however. Melvins had an excellent set list with great newer material to open the show and finished strong with select picks from classic albums over the years. (Your Blessened to close the show was a dream come true for me). Two drummers adds so much power to their sound, and they were all having fun up there.
Paradise - put them on the fucking wall please already.

About Melvins
The Melvins are one of modern music’s most influential bands. Having formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington, the group founded by singer/guitar player Buzz Osborne (with stalwart drummer Dale Crover joining the following year), has been credited with merging the worlds of punk rock and heavy music, forming a new subgenre all its own. Over the band’s 40-year history, they’ve released 30-plus original albums, numerous live full-lengths and far too many to count singles and rarities. In the course of their discography, they've partnered with Jello Biafra, Mudhoney, and Fantômas for individual releases and toured the world many times over. In fact, the band had the misfortune to be in both Christchurch and Tokyo for their 2011 earthquakes. In 2012, the Melvins completed the “51 States in 51 Days” (50 states +DC) tour, which was chronicled in the film “Across The USA in 51 Days.” The current incarnation of the band is Osborne, Crover, and Steven McDonald (Redd Kross/OFF!). Previous line-ups include a pairing of Osborne and Crover with Big Business band members Jared Warren and Coady Willis, a four-piece featuring the current trio plus Butthole Surfers’ Jeff Pinkus, as well as Melvins Lite, which partners Osborne and Crover with Mr. Bungle’s Trevor Dunn. Sometimes, if you’re extra lucky, one version of the Melvins will open for the Melvins.
