About Claustrofobia
Over the years, Claustrofobia has taken their energetic live show across their native Brazil, the rest of South America and beyond to Europe gathering up a passionate and avid fanbase. Europe is lucky enough to face another imminent ‘Claustro’ onslaught as the band has recently announced a headline ‘European Visceral Tour’ between April – June 2015.
To date the band has shared the stage with the likes Soulfly, Destruction, In Flames, Brujeria, Napalm Death, Vader, Krisiun, Helmet, Hate Eternal, Ratos de Porão, Paul Di Anno and Sepultura amongst many more.
With all that experience, the band is still filled with a passion and energy for their music and performance, and will always stay loyal to their music. The future is bright for Claustrofobia as they are fresh from recording with legendary producer Russ Russell [Napalm Death, The Exploited, Dimmu Borgir…]. The untitled album, which as of yet does not have any label attachment, will be ready to annihilate nearer the end of 2015.
In 2016 Claustrofobia released “Download Hatred", is a visually stunning gigantic sounding Thrash / Death Metal opus showcasing CLAUSTROFOBIA at his very best and ready to compete with everybody that made a name for itself on an international level... brace yourself, the train is on its way and won't stop until everybody is crushed to dust and beg for more.
2018 saw the return of Claustrofobia with a brutal 5 song EP entitled “Swamp Loco” . Again with a thundering thrash sound like an avalanche destroying the side of a mountain. At the end of 2018 Claustrofobia saw the exit of long time bassist Daniel Bonfogo and the Entrance Of Rafael Yamada formally of Project 46.
2019 saw Claustrofobia in the US touring as a headliner with Gravespell and playing shows with bands such as Winds of Plague, Interloper, Aenimus, Skeletal Remains and has the opportunity to play the 11th installment of the Las Vegas DeathFest with bands such at Pathology, Amputated Genitals and Blood Red Throne.
The band also did a cross-country U.S. tour with Master in the summer of 2019 before heading back to Brazil to open for Slayer's last show in Brazil on 2 October 2019.[5]
Two days later, they went on to play the Palco Sunset stage at Rock in Rio, in Rio de Janeiro, on 4 October 2019.[6]
