Everyone has a dream in their heart...Everyone. You may have just stumbled on a great example of what happens when you Never Say Never! The Singer- Melinda has been writing songs since the age of 12. Not only are her songs inspirational, but they touch the hearts of the listeners. Melinda loves to worship from her heart and the music that she delivers shows just that. Melinda's style varies from traditional gospel to pop/rock. "Whatever the genre, my heart is singing to God. I've learned not to be prejudiced with styles of music because we never know what kind of music will reach people. If our knowledge is limited, our ministry will be as well. I just want to be pliable in the hand of God and let Him sing through me." Melinda took a chance last summer and auditioned for Gospel Dream. She was chosen out of thousands that auditioned. Because of this amazing open door, she gracefully walked in it and gave God the glory all of the way. "It was really a step of faith. I didn't want to wake up another morning not walking in my purpose. I went through some things prior to going, but God held me and promised me that He wouldn't fail me. The whole experience was amazing because I have never seeen the manifestation of God's grace in such a way in my life. I just want to stay right there. Right there. In His Grace." As a result of winning the competition, Melinda is working on her debut album slated to be released July 28th 2009. She will have noted producers at the helm as PAJAM, Bernie Herms, Aaron Lindsey, and newcomer Freddy Washington Jr. (Fredwah) Melinda’s debut will be a wonderfully textured effort mingling upbeat pop with pensive worship ballads. "My mission is to let people know that life in God is beautiful,” she says. “We rarely live in the NOW and God is in the now. It’s about living in the moment and I’m living in it. I want people to pursue God and remain thirsty for Him. Theres no better time than NOW!” Melinda was a high school teacher for 6 years until her focus became music ministry. She is still a part of the community where she is the founder of youth organizations that target inner city youth. She hosts conferences and workshops that target youth as well. “To God be the glory. This is not about me, but for His glory. So my answer is simply, YES LORD!” New album coming soon!
