About Riddle of Steel
Riddle Of Steel is a 3 piece rock band from St. Louis, Missouri.
Consisting of Andrew Elstner (guitar, vocals) Jimmy Vavak (Bass, vocals, ex-five deadly venoms) and Rob Smith (Drums, Traindodge), RoS play powerful and melodic rock their own way, influenced by timeless bands such as Led Zep, King Crimson, the Police, David Bowie, and mid-west rock scene legends like Shiner.
To date, RoS have released three discs on St. Louis based Ascetic records. They released their first CD, 'Burn' 6 track Ep in 2001, featuring Ken McCray on drums.
The follow up to this was their first full-length release in 2003, 'Python' (named after their old and now broken tour van) with Dave Turncrantz on drums, who left RoS in 2003/4 to join Russian Circles.
After Dave's departure, Rob Smith of Traindodge (OKC) stepped in as their new full time drummer.
Since Rob's arrival, they recorded their third and most recent full-length disc, 'Got This Feelin'' in 2005.
RoS have toured the US numerous times, and left shores to hit Europe in April 2006.
Recording of a new full-length is in the works and is looking to be released in the new year of 2007.
