Ben Higginbotham

Ben Higginbotham is a singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist based in Queens, NY. Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Ben has been a student of music his whole life. When a piano became available by chance at an estate sale, his dad bought it, and Ben started lessons at 8. Learning along to the sounds of Texas staples like Lyle Lovett, Ruthie Foster, and Robert Earl Keen, he joined the middle school choir and became obsessed with Jazz, rock, and church music. Freshman year of high school, Ben wrote his first full song and never looked back. Hooked on music, he continued his education at Berklee College of Music, where he met most of the band he still plays with today. He has been writing songs and playing in bars ever since.

His debut solo EP, Canopy, is a nostalgic collection of tracks about love, maturing, and his childhood home in Dallas. Canopy deepens Ben’s commitment to modern folk music, while further developing his unique niche that’s tinged by Texas and the wide variety of his musical upbringing. Most of his collaborators on the EP are friends from college and high school, keeping the project grounded in community.

Over the years, Ben has amassed a large collection of songs, and he is already hard at work putting together the next project.
