Discovered online by super producer Jermaine Dupri from a $15 webcam and a stunning rendition of Ciara’s “Promise,” which garnered more than one million views, a MySpace inbox message from the SO SO Def chief changed her life – forever.
From homebound diva to complete internet sensation, a then 20-year-old Dondria Nicole officially signed with So So Def in 2007. Her debut album “Dondria vs. Phatfffat” released in August 2010 channeled her natural talent and years of training in 11 throwback-soaked tracks. Nicole pours her heart and soul into her first single "You're the One," written and produced by Dupri and veteran songwriter/producer Bryan Michael Cox. The debut single charted on the Hot 100 and Billbaord 200. Her second single “Shawty Wus Up” featured Johnta Austin and Rap MC, Diamond.
The Dallas native performed at the BET Awards, on “The Mo’Nique Show” and opened the Trey Songz and Monica tour, which kicked off August 2010 (At the time, she had a Top 10 single at radio “You’re the One,” which became the No.1 video on “106 & Park” as well). The BET Music Matters artist performed at the ASCAP Awards and was honored by YouTube as one of the “Top 5 Emerging Artists” in 2009.
With the independent release of her new EP titled "The Day of The Don" Dondria Nicole's rebirth is definitely the Dawn of a new day!
