Cinnamon Beach

Cinnamon Beach is a 4-piece band from Groningen, the Netherlands. The core of the band is a musical friendship that brings harmonic melodies combined with acoustic and electric sounds. “You don’t just play songs, you create an atmosphere”, is something that we’ve heard a lot. We write Pop songs with influences from the Indie and Folk genre. We started as a project for ‘De nacht van kunst en wetenschap’ in 2011. The project grew into performing for the first time as ‘Cinnamon Beach’, in a livingroom during Eurosonic 2012. Ever since, we kept writing songs as a band, not as individuals. It's one of the key ingredients of our bandspirit. More live shows followed in livingrooms & bars around town (like 'O Cealleighs Irish pub, Kult, Vera Downstage) and we performed on several festivals including Noorderzon and Melodica. We also played a few shows in Berlin. At the beginning of 2014, we released a home recorded single called ‘Silent Revolution’ with b-side ‘Melancholy Street’. And we changed drummers and found a new bassplayer when Niek, (one of the first CB formation), left to live abroad. In this new formation, we recorded 'Sagar', our first official studio-single. The single was recorded by Floris Glasbeek at Limborecordings in Haren. He also mixed our previous home-recordings. The a-side ‘Sagar’ is about Arwin’s travels around Nepal and named after a kid he met in an orphanage. The single is planned for release in Autumn 2015 and will hopefully be generating more gigs to play. Catchy, melancholic pop/indie songs with melodic harmonies and acoustic-electric sounds.
