About Rob Carlton Band

Rob Carlton (Seven Thunders) – March 2012 Posted on March 19, 2012 by Duss Rodgers With 4 solo albums under his belt, guitar aficionado Rob Carlton will make your ears bleed with delight as he lays down some of the coolest guitar tracks that are no doubt making Jimi Hendrix roll over in his grave. Right off the bat Rob kicked me in the teeth with his wailing yet impeccable skills on Seven Thunders and rolled into I Know What It Feels Like with the smooth cool of a Santanaesque ballad. Black Jack walked me into a southern rock aura that kind of creeps up on you and rips into a big band rock vibe a la Van Halen. From track to track this cats musicality grabs you by the balls and twists your senses in a whirlwind of hard rock, guitar laced, rock to the Gods goodness. Definitely on top of his game, Rob demonstrates what dedication and drive mean to the music game. Originally from Long Island, NY, Rob is a veteran in the indie music game having played in a few bands over the years. One band in particular, Empyre, helped Rob gain more notoriety and exposure early on his career. He’s had the pleasure of opening up for and touring with acts like: Cinderella, Zebra, and Blue Oyster Cult. No mean feat for the man from Long Island. Realizing his potential, Rob took the plunge and made the decision to record his first solo album A Time Such as This, soon followed by Unshackled, Beautiful Collision, and of course his latest release Seven Thunders. Currently sporting endorsement deals with GHS Strings, Morley Pedals, Halo Guitars, Specraflex Cables and Rocktron Amps & Effects, it appears that the industry ain’t sleeping and is working overtime to keep track of the raw talent available to them. Rob has also been featured in popular guitar centric magazines like: Guitar World, Guitar Player, Burn, Kerrang! and Circus & Good Times. Showing no signs of slowing down Rob Carlton has been called a helluva guitar player by producer Jack Douglas of John Lennon and Aerosmith. It seems that this cat can do no wrong in the world of music. In fact, I’d say his only downfall is that he’s a Steelers fan… but hey, nobody’s perfect.
