About In Love

In Love are a group of guys that all come from different bands and/or projects. (Our members' performance experience include opening for the following local, National, and International acts: Rooney, MxPx, One For the Team, Discover America, Kids in the Way, The Color Fred, Josephine, Skillet, This Providence, The Snake The Cross The Crown, Let Go, Love Hate Hero, Brighten, Rookie of the Year, State and Madison, LolaRay, The Effects, Jonezetta, The Secret Handshake, Damiera, The Graduate, 1997, The Ataris, Family Force 5, Barcelona, HelloGoodbye, Skypiper, Anniversaire, Tim Wildsmith, Nicholas Petersen, Flight Metaphor, Everyday/Everynight, Hot From Far, and Tarlton). In Love as a band has had the privilege to play with such acts as: Ted Wulfers, Everyday/Everynight, Orion Walsh, Field Club, The Wicker and Pine, Skypiper, Take Me to Vegas, Flight Metaphor, Cymbal Rush, Jeremy Messersmith, and Fools & Horses. Quick History from 2002 - Present: Chris Atkins and Bradley Tyler Moore met each other when they were 14 years of age. They started a band called Your Face (later changed to Akita-Ken, since the band was getting denied shows due to their "comical high school sounding" name). Zach Short met Chris and Brad through the shows that Your Face played, as did Ryan McKeever, and Cole Evans was there from time to time also. Ryan McKeever began making his own music at a young age as well, that became known as Cymbal Rush. Chris started a solo project called Chris the Whale and Zach Short followed with a solo project known as Zach Short Band. They played together constantly on the street in The Old Market and at The Benson Grind. After Akita-Ken took a sort of hiatus from shows, Brad played bass in Tim Wildsmith and The Lost Cause and for Lindsay Donovan. Cole began to street-perform in The Old Market as well and play solo acoustic shows at The Benson Grind. Ryan McKeever began making solo music and performing at the Grind and Cymbal Rush continued to progress. Chris stopped the Chris the Whale project and took an indefinite hiatus from music. Zach Short's solo music gained more and more attention, success, and quality. In the Fall of 2010, Zach called up Chris Atkins, Ryan McKeever, and Cruise Curtis to back his solo music as Zach Short Band. After discussion, they decided to just make it a rock band and Zach said they should call it "In Love". They had their first practice on September 10, 2010. There first show was on February 4, 2011 at The Slowdown. After playing a couple more shows, Cruise left the band and was eventually replaced by Cole Evans. Around the same time, Bradley Tyler Moore was brought in to play lead guitar to make In Love a five piece. In Love finished recording and mixing their first album "With You" at Bailey Recording from November 2011-December 2011. They had the album mastered at Focus Mastering by Doug Van Sloun in January of 2012. Their CD Release was March 30, 2012 at The Slowdown with Calamity & Jane, Field Club, and Flight Metaphor. In Love is currently having fun playing shows and writing new material that will hopefully go towards a 2nd album to be recorded in 2013. Due to Cole's insane school schedule, Erik Trent from Nifty 250 joined In Love to play bass whenever Cole couldn't. ____________________________________________ The Alternate Story: In the year 1998, when Smashmouth was super-huge, there was an incredibly violent hailstorm that has nothing to do with this band. Fast forward a few years, and travel a few miles into the midwest, and then rewind, and take a few steps back. Now place your finger in between your eyes, and spin a couple sweet 360s. Then move on, because man, you really need to. Get over it already, you're never getting that frisbee back. All of a sudden you find yourself in a tranquil, suburban basement. Five, young, strapping lads are working diligently to devise a way to splice bananas and steak, creating a brand new "superfood," that has been deemed "Steaknanas." Genius, right? Wrong...ed. After several failed attempts, one of the (hopeful) inventors turns on the television, to find a really great Spanish soap opera to ease the pain of failure. This inventor was called, Zach Short Band (or at least that's how he referred to himself). In another failed attempt to do something, and not finding any Spanish drama worth his time, he began beating the remote control against some porcelain plates. While not strong enough to actually break them...it created an interesting sound. Chris, another inventor, began throwing old rags at Zach's broken microwave that was in the basement, which added to the racket. He was then joined by the other inventor, Ryan Shmarcade Shmire, who decided the ruckus needed more bass, and some pipe organ. Cole Evans, a radio active fish delivery boy, was yoink'd into Zach's (The Short House) by Bradley Tyler Moops (Moors! It's Moops... Moore...s! The CARD SAYS MOOPS!) who had stopped by to correct everyone's spelling and recover his superhero cape from the pile of old rags that Chris had found. Brad and Cole loved Zach's interesting plate sounds and began opening and shutting the refrigerator door and kicking the oven, respectively. They achieved world peace for a small moment (this is something that the rag-tag quintet has still yet to see any credit for). Then the light clicked on...hey, we should be a band. Those one guys did it once, and they were pretty sure that no one was in bands anymore these days, and agreed it would be totally original. They picked up some different instruments, and right before your eyes...In Love, became the second name that everyone could agree on. And now they rock. And you can too. Go spin some more sweet 360s, you'll see. ____________________________________________ RIP (2010-2013). We will record our second and final album posthumously.
