Briget Boyle

Briget Boyle fronts a five-piece Oakland rock band whose sound sits somewhere between Neko Case and Liz Phair: emotionally direct, finely crafted, and rooted in two decades of Bay Area stages and an unusually wide musical life. A featured soloist with Kitka Women's Vocal Ensemble for nearly twenty years, a co-founder of the nationally recognized I Need Space queer music festival, a producer with credits ranging from Balkan brass to underground hip hop, Briget has spent her career building community through music. Now she is bringing all of it to bear on her own songs. Her latest album Heartbreak Residue was called "a novel set to music" by the East Bay Express. A new double EP is in production. The songs are truer than ever.
