I’ve never been to “The Factory” before, But it’s a fantastic venue. Great seats everywhere and wonderful acoustics. It takes a pale comparison compared to Brian Culbertson, however. I have actually seen Brian before, and I wasn’t disappointed. It was an absolutely fantastic concert, with tons of energy And built to a crescendo that was explosive. This man really understands how to please excite his audience. His band is so good that each one could be their own solo star, and may be for all I know. Unlike a lot of concerts there were no overly long solos that left you wishing they were finally over. Each one was its own special moment in time and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire concert. Go See Bryan! He doesn’t disappoint.

There are not enough stars available to adequately describe Brian Culbertson’s performance at the North Carolina Museum of Art! He and his band not only put on a show, they made the audience leave with a smile on their face and a warm feeling in their heart! Brian and the band played for nearly 2 hours never missing a beat and playing a mixture of his old and brand new songs! If you’ve never seen him perform live, take my word for it, you will NOT be disappointed. Take it from a 4 time show attendee in the past 2 years! He’s worth it!

It was great. I have been wanting to see Brian and his band for a very long time, so when I received notice last year that he would be in Thousand Oaks, CA in 2024, I immediately texted my daughter to order tickets before they ran out. I turned 88 years old on March 9, 2024, so this was the beginning of my birthday celebrations. In spite of my sciatic pain, when they played "Get Up,' I was right there with them, swaying and waving my hands. It was an electrifying show. I am so very glad I was able to go. My 27 year old granddaughter who went with my daughter and me, wasn't familiar with his music, but she certainly did have a marvelous experience. My daughter was "WOO WOOING." I watch him on YouTube, on the Friday night show, when it's on. I wanted them to play & sing "It's Friday Night," but since the performance at Kavli Theater was on Thursday night, I guess that's why they didn't do it. I especially liked the music with the deep down bass and the lighting was terrific. Anyone in doubt about going, let go of your fears and attend. You won't regret it. I promise you.

About Brian Culbertson

Over the course of crafting a 25-album catalog and architecting nearly 40 Billboard No. 1 singles as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer, Brian Culbertson has charted his own unique course in music. Label him jazz and he makes a funk record. Call him an R&B artist and he drops an acoustic jazz trio collection. Brand him pop and he creates a 32-minute New Age opus. And you’d be hard pressed to name another instrumentalist of his ilk who can mount an elaborately designed concert production that will keep him on the road for three consecutive months.
Culbertson burst onto the scene in 1994 with a chart-topping album that he recorded in his college apartment featuring keyboard-led contemporary jazz tracks. “Long Night Out” landed him a lengthy record deal and signaled that a star was born.
Flash forward to present day, Culbertson composed thirty songs that populate the three albums in “The Trilogy” that describes the three-part arc of a long-term relationship: the hot and steamy “falling in love” phase, the rocky middle when perhaps they even break up for a bit, and the couple reunites to live “happily ever after” phase. The Trilogy Tour will feature a mix of songs from The Trilogy Albums, as well as the greatest hits from Brian Culbertson’s catalog.
“Hearing the three albums in a row provides the context. All the songs on ‘Red’ (October 2021) were clearly about passion and love. ‘Blue’ (January 2022) is melancholy and sad songs, breakup songs and ‘losing people’ songs. Once you get to part three, ‘White’ (May 2022) is all about songs that have an uplifting feel to them. Stylistically, they all feel similar even though they are emotionally broad” said Culbertson.
Possessing style, panache and a savvy business mind capable of moving the needle in music and beyond, Culbertson founded and curates the annual Napa Valley and Chicago Jazz Getaways, which have attracted guests from all over the globe to experience his premier events.
Whether you’re listening to music from “The Trilogy” on record or live in concert, you’re hearing an eclectic, entertaining and engaging set from an artist at the peak of his power.
