About DJ Cassius Kline

“Antagonism: to me, this is what techno music stands for”, says Munich-based techno DJ and producer Cassius Kline. Thus, his style can be described as melodic, yet rock-hard and even relentless at times. Energetic, yet hypnotic. Groovy. Straight. Having lately discovered his passion for vinyl, Cassius Kline likes the contrast of playing brandnew music on vintage material. “For some reason, it feels more real, more tangible”, he finds. Techno music to him means being abroad, in an alien city – and yet, suddenly, feeling at home as soon as you enter the club and sense the vibe, meeting up with the global techno family. All the same, Cassius Kline cherishes his “heimat”, meaning: home. As resident DJ of “Rote Sonne” in Munich, one of Germany’s most renowned Clubs, he feels keenly committed to his hometown. This is also why he feels he`s been influenced to a great extent by Recondite’s album “Hinterland”: To Kline, it’s the equivalent of remaining true to one’s origins. I. e. eating roast pork. Cherishing nature and the mountains. Sucking in the atmosphere outside during a storm, for instance. Listening to thunder and rain, before doing a gig. This is where he gets his energy from: Elements. Elementary. Oh, and one last thing.: If people say that roast pork and techno, “Hinterland” and underground, they don't seem to go together very well, Cassius Kline likes to answer in the words of reputed techno DJ Philipp Ruhmhardt: “Doch, tun sie”. [Meaning: Yes, they do.] booking@sensor-music.com info@cassiuskline.com www.soundcloud.com/dj-cassius-kline
