Yesterday went to see her and her band in Köln but unfortunately arrived with a leaking cooling system of my van after travelling 120km and missed their performance spending the rest of the evening and night repairing a rubber hosed with the Anwb/Adac. The people of Helios 37 helped me with some gallons water for the cooling system :) I hope she’ll make a tour nearby again in the future. I love their music and her beautiful voice 👍😘🤗 Mvg/greetings Pascal

About Liza Anne

Liza Anne is an American artist, performer and songwriter who has released 5 LPs since 2014 and gained critical acclaim with their 2018 release entitled Fine But Dying (Arts and Crafts). The intricacy of their artistry dances between genres, tones and extremes to create a rush of nostalgic emotion that is given sound, shape and movement. There is a tonality to their voice and a candidness to the details of their songwriting that creates an ever widening landscape for the listener to walk into and find more of themselves.

In 2023, Liza publicly came out at as a non-binary lesbian with their poem called The Gay Miracle, published in Paper Magazine and paired with their euphoric joy grenade of a single Cheerleader. The single began the release of their 5th LP Utopian (Anti-Fragile) coined by Stereogum as a ‘celebration of change’ and by The New York Times as ‘empowerment core’. The record explores joy, grief and tenderness through Liza’s explorative signature of songwriting and production. With it, Liza plays with the healing mechanism of self expression and returning to oneself that seems to have bloomed from their sobriety and the tender documentation of the years leading up to coming out. Although the record was written and recorded while Liza was still closeted - both personally and publicly - it seems to have served as the breadcrumbs of becoming that Liza’s subconscious was leaving for them to truly understand and listen to when they were ready.

Liza is currently living in Paris while writing, workshopping and choreographing their 6th LP (release TBD).
