About Holden Caulfield
The WV punk & hardcore scene isn't one you hear of often, that was until Holden Caulfield came along. Formed in 2000 Holden Caulfield has been pouring all of their heart and energy into this band since its inception. Holden Caulfield came about with the idea of playing music and having fun which were two things missing in the lives of the members of the band. It didn't take but a few practices before they were getting in the van and playing shows all over. Of course, every band has their fair share of good and bad, and a lot of them seem to fall apart in the process. Somehow, Holden Caulfield just became stronger and more dedicated to what they were doing. After losing a few members and being financially strapped (like many bands), they regrouped and ended up tighter than ever. This only shows their dedication and passion for something that they love so much. From those experiences Holden Caulfield decided that they were always going to have that sort of an attitude and play every show they could play in order to keep driving forward & having fun.
In 2001, they recorded their first demo, "The Beginning Of Forever And Ever", after meeting Russ Fox from Broadmoor Recording Studios. Liking the huge raw sound that they achieved with Russ, Holden Caulfield immediately started writing for a new album. They eventually went back to the studio in Nov & Dec of 2002 to record "The Art of Burning Bridges" which was released in 2003 by Surprise Attack Records. Following that release the band played countless shows with hundreds of amazing bands such as Throwdown, Norma Jean, Stretch Arm Strong, Most Precious Blood, & Bleeding Through. With a decent CD out and about Holden Caulfield started to gain even more attention with their brand of unique hardcore which is aggressive, heavy, and sometimes melodic, but not leaning too much in any particular direction. This would explain why they have such a broad appeal.
After a couple of years of touring and writing the band figured it was time to get back into the studio. In the Summer of 2005 production began on “Can’t Stop Now” with long time friend of the band and producer Russ Fox. 11 tracks later you can hear a more mature and heavier version of Holden Caulfield. With a release set for September of 2005, the band plans on playing out as much as possible to help promote this release.
