About Mob Music
Mob Music is a supergroup of Lisa Bello, Justin Waithe, and MikeMRF. The 3 started as a live trio with Bello and Waithe on vocals and MikeMRF on piano. The 3 performed live residencies in Boston, MA as well as bigger festivals. Their signature sound was rooted in fearless freestyle and impromptu, acoustic remixing with jaw dropping harmonies, beatoxing, off the top rap verses and improvised solos - thus the name 'Mob' as in the affect of a flash mob.
After about 2 years of thrilling audiences, the group came together on MikeMRF's sophomore album Mob Music. The album soared to the top of the iTunes Jazz Albums Chart and sat on Billboard's Heatseekers. It went on to garner the trio a number of awards including the 2017 Lennon Award for Best Hip-Hop Song (for "Mob Music"), 2 OUTmusic Awards including Humanitarian Songwriter of the Year (for "Be Strong LGBT Youth"), Top 10 Finalist in the US Songwriting Contest (for "This Love") and a Best Music Video nomination for their viral visual for "Trying" international radio single off the album.
The group is currently working on the follow-up; Mob Music 2 and will be touring with the new album this summer.
