Douglas Jay Boyd

Douglas Jay Boyd is a performing musician and songwriter based in Austin Texas. His written work and live shows are a fluid combination of a variety of musical genres, both classic and current. The listener is treated to a soulful vocalist with relatable stories filled with honest and energetic confidence. Upon first impression, his upbeat rhythm and powerful delivery demonstrate his brand of bluesy soul, but a closer listen reveals his love of folk and rock. The believability of his music is directly related to his own diverse background and cultural experiences. In addition to fronting his own band, Douglas has performed with a variety of musicians and groups on percussion and vocals, bringing a new take to a classic instrument, the cajon, such as Aly Tadros, Chloe Charles, Jonny Gray, Dawn & Hawkes and members of The Wild Feathers. He is currently touring both solo and with Buggaboo, an Americana Rock band with a gritty twist. Douglas is a unique artist with the rare ability to bring you into his world, be it his own music or adding his touch to another's.
