Robert Sloan

Robert Sloan has always sought to write, cover, and showcase the types of music and lyrics that have the power to reach the philosophical, emotionally-in-touch people, the introspective people, and the people who have the inclination to "over-think" everything. This is his most ambitious project. The development of his unique writing process began at the age of 13, with deep meditations and lucid dreams. He would empty his mind of thought and strum one chord or phrase repetitively on his guitar in the hours preceding sleep. Through this form of meditation, he sought to become a conduit for the spirits of deceased musicians as he would do his best to interpret and produce their unfinished works in the physical realm. In his dreams, he practiced his technical abilities on the guitar. If he became tired of these dream exercises, he would explore the creations of his limitless dream universe to find more inspiration from within his own mind. His first foray into learning an instrument came when he started to play the recorder at 8 years old. Later he began to play clarinet in the school's band and sing in choir. At the age of 13, he heard Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze,” and discovered the world of Psychedelic Rock. He needed to play guitar and it was a decision in which he never looked back from. After years of playing guitar he fell in love with the organic acoustic sounds emitted by many of the world’s instruments including the kora, hammer dulcimer, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, & Pipa. He continues to practice several of these instruments and strives to create new unique musical soundscapes that are needed more than ever in the western world. With the same passion that he has for producing his own music, Robert has recently embarked on a new musical journey. This year, Robert formed his Booking / Promoting Company “InterROBang Productions Present,” as a vehicle to evolve and inspire the music and arts scene in Long Island, New York. He works with many local venues and bands as well as touring acts to help create remarkable new experiences for both observers and artists alike.
