About GARCIAPHONE
Garciaphone, the music project of Olivier Perez, a French-Spanish musician from Clermont-Ferrand, has always been about time. The short time of a song: how to create a world in just a few minutes (preferably less than three) with melodies that go straight to the heart and words that (re)awaken? And the long time, that of life itself. Seven years have passed since the previous album, years during which Olivier Perez took a few detours (Barcelona, where he lived for four years; his practice of drawing and painting; touring as a drummer for the New York band Elysian Fields) before returning to songwriting.
The ten tracks on the new album, 'Ghost Fire' (out Nov. 8, 2024) are more orchestrated (featuring arrangements with cello, zither, saz, or bouzouki), which was not the band's usual style, and more direct: the song must remain compact, with clear melodies. Both on record and on stage, Olivier Perez is accompanied by Zacharie Boissau on guitar and keyboards, Clément Chevrier (The Delano Orchestra) on bass, and a newcomer, Mocke (Midget!, Chevalrex) on electric guitar.
