Auxiliary

Auxiliary was founded in 2007 by Doug Russum and Matt Tetrick and was known by the name Anything but Ordinary up until the band picked up rhythm guitarist Cody Huntress and his cousin Zai on bass. In 2009 the quartet was named the "5th Best Young Band in the State of Maine" through the Reindeer records Rock Off, the only instrumental metal band ever to make it to the finals throughout the Rock-Offs 25 year history, not to mention, one of the few bands to have underclassmen highschoolers make up the entire group. After some line up changes involving Cody and Zai to leave, and the addition of Dylan Tremblay and Jake Rivard taking the rhythm and bass spots, the band entered into the Gorilla Records Battle of the Bands in Portland for 2011. After the preliminary, Doug decided it was time to move on, and left Dylan to pick up Lead Guitar where he had left off. After adding John Costello on vocals (the first time the band ever had a full time vocalist), they went on to placing third in the Battle of the Bands out of over 50 groups of all ages. Having gotten the attention of local booking agents, they went on to play shows in Portland with the company NEBOOKING, and played The First Annual Bay State Metal Festival in Massachusetts with bands like Emmure, Chelsea Grin, BlessTheFall, IWrestledABearOnce, Motionless In White, In This Moment, and many more. After Bay State, it was decided that the band take a short hiatus. Now, Auxiliary is back in action with the updated line up with Jake moving to vocals, Luke Bolender on rhythm guitar, and Jack Mendoza on bass guitar. We are a metal band through and through from the southern reaches of Maine. We hope to bring the old school mosh starting riffage back to the scene while still bringing something new to the world of metal.
