RED LIGHT RIOT was spawned in 2013 after Kris and Nina got talking about starting a band and quickly recognised that they had mutual influences such as L7, Black Flag, Fugazi, Patti Smith, Wendy O, Hole, At The Drive In, and Iggy and the Stooges. Fuelled by a fury at the state of the world today, both knew they had something important to say and wanted to unleash their truth onto a world that is driven by lies. Building a particular sound of their own; honouring their punk rock & rock n roll roots but injecting that sound with a fresh and intense perspective. "Red Light Riot themselves are most easily pinned as punk rock, as they extol the high energy and thrashed out melodic anarchy of the genre. Though with influences like hard rock and original punk, the band are better left undefined." - Happy Magazine 2016 2014 saw Red Light Riot release their live studio debut EP 'High Society' recorded at Home Surgery (Tom Larkin), which was followed by a video clip made by Director Dan Armstrong of StrongMan Pictures, for their hi-energy single 'Demented'. (they have been) "getting fantastic responses from audiences who are being left gobsmacked by their powerful catchy riffs, and pure unadulterated energy they give off at shows. Beat Magazine- 2014 In 2016 launched their own own Festival 'El Riot Festival' which is held annually at The Tote, headlined by Dead City Ruins, it was also Red Light Riot's launch of their 2 track single 'In Shadows' recorded at Head Gap studios. Red Light Riot also appeared on 'The Hard Rock Show' where the tv show hosts rated 'In Shadows': "The scream on Kris the singer is intense, very angry and I really love that..Definitely a take no bullshit punk rock band and I like that and I wanna hear more" The Hard Rock Show - 2016 Red Light Riot have shared the stage with such bands as Tumbleweed, Sun God Replica, King Of The North, Don Fernando, My Echo, Bugdust, Dead City Ruins, No Idea, Ramshackle Army, Captives, Wolfpack, Animal Hands, River Of Snakes, Coffin Wolf, The Ugly Kings, The Mercy Kills and Coffin Carousel. Red Light Riot is Kris (Kill The Apprentice) on vocals, Nina (Ex-Wolfpack) on guitar and backing vocals, Ed (Hellbent Revelators) on lead guitar, Nick (Elm Street, The Scarlets) on bass and backing vocals and Brett (ex-Ben Gel & the Boneyard Saints) on drums.
