About Jack Omer
Jack Omer's debut album 'The Music of Joanna' was released in June 2013. Produced by Neill Macoll and engineered by Phill Brown the album features 11 stunning songs as well as the talents of Neill Macoll, Kate St.John, Martyn Barker, Sarah Allen and Neil Cowley. The UK's top Roots Music Magazine R2 gave the album 4 stars in a glowing review. Other reviewers have said: "an assured work and a promise of fine things to come...The melodies are strong and inviting, as on the opening track Something Wicked This Way Comes, and Omer has a good voice. With Strange Are The Ways and The Golden Shore, he also shows he can write interesting songs." Daily Telegraph, Martin Chilton, Culture Editor "beautiful and poignant...He has the poetic quality of someone that has kissed the metaphoric Blarney Stone" Neil KIng, Fatea Magazine "Jack Omer's music is like discovering a rich seam - it shines with authenticity. He is an artist who combines intensely moving lyric-writing with musical settings that have a memorable, inspired simplicity. That simplicity is the hardest thing to find in music - and Jack has it in abundance." John Harle, Ivor Novello Award-Winning Composer "A timeless and beautiful album" Legendary Engineer Phill Brown (Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Talk Talk) "The gentle passion of Omer’s performing style is appealing, his delivery soft-toned yet slightly smoky, exhibiting traces of Donovan or Al Stewart perhaps...There’s some delicate instrumental playing on display here, which well matches the delicacy of the imagery and expression in Jack’s lyrics and the subtle mixture of folk, Americana and indie-country which characterises them...this is an attractive collection that reveals more with successive plays, and surely bodes well for Jack’s future status in the songwriting arena." Dave Kidman, NetRhythms Webiste 7Bit Arcade had the following to say about 'The Golden Shore' a track from the album 'The Music of Joanna': "It's a powerful, poignant war cry, full of fiery indignation and remorse, an artist with passion and personality rattled by the broken systems governing this great nation he desperately wants release from. Wrapped up in a beautifully constructed acoustic melody - with a wonderfully catchy chorus to boot - 'The Golden Shore' is simply one of the best, most evocative songs released this year... The Golden Shore' is one of those golden, shining beacons in a vast sea of defeatist banality." Jack Omer's debut album The Music of Joanna is out now and can be downloaded at http://jackomer.com
