About Final Days Society
Final Days Society is the result of 4 guys from 4 different bands in the southern parts of Sweden joining forces to make music that they love, emotional powerful music. After the first rehearsal we all knew right away that the music we made was something worth fighting for, so promises were made. And so Final Days Society´s story begins. Albums: Noise passes, silence remains (2009, Digitalrevolt/Soundpollution) Ours is not a caravan of despair (2011, Armod/Soundpollution) In late 2011 Our is not a caravan of depair were named as one of the year’s best album by Joyzine.se The song ”60” was soundtrack to the swedish short film ”Prinsen” by director Anders Hazelius, starring Adam Pålsson (Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar, Onskan). Until 2013 the band has done several shows around Sweden/Scendinavia and have been on 2 European tours where they shared stages with acts like Junius (USA) & God is an astronaut (IRL). The band’s third album is under progress and will be release in 2014. Reviews ”Ours Is Not A Caravan Of Despair is at times uplifting, at times devastating, but it links right back to why so many of us are irrevocably hooked to this thing that can transcend boundaries, heal old scars, and move mountains—this wonderful gift that we call music.” 8,5/10 - Absolutepunk.net ”Final days society's album is definitely gonna please you. With its long songs carrying this somewhat space feel often associated with post-rock, it features a light side instead of being some more come! The plans are big. FDS will manage! darkened post-metal. The dreamy male vocals sure contribute a lot to this journey, being distant, calming, yet of a perfect quality, and most of all, not intrusive at any time. It's a fresh record, that will set a nice atmosphere for you to have a soft and cool time. Definitely an ethereal and beautiful album.” Ethereal-soundscapes ”The organization of this album is phenomenal, and the musical chemistry these four guys have is astonishing – they can accomplish just about anything, and I’m very interested to see how much Final Days Society will take off from here.” ” Anna Enkvist - Joyzine.se "To put it simply: Final Days Society are good at what they do. Their songs, the scale of which would ordinarily test the listener's patience by approaching the ten-minute mark, are constructed with an engaging nous of texture and tone which gives the listener plenty to admire. Ours Is Not A Caravan Of Despair is a good album by a band who clearly know their way around post-rock" 7,5/10 Rockfreaks.net "The 7 songs on “Ours Is Not a Caravan of Despair” clock in at just shy of 56 minutes, meaning each averages 8 minutes in length. This is not a band that shys away from lengthy pieces. And that’s to the listener’s benefit, because any way that you get more Final Days Society is a win. This band is poised for big things if they can keep it together. They’ve got the sound, the songs and the chops to make it in post-rock. Long live Final Days Society." IndependentClauses.com ”Ours Is Not A Caravan Of Despair meticulously gathers major elements ambient, shoegaze and post-rock all together while topping a great deal of the album with fascinating vocals." From Växjö Sweden we move to Final Days Society. They are pretty damn sweet, their album Ours Is Not A Caravan Of Despair reminds me of a happy go lucky workshop between Jonsi, Mum and Mogwai - so very Scandinavian then! That isnt even doing the album justice - it is a fine effort indeed." sonicmasala.blogspot.se "Atmospheric post rock The band's jagged and finely calibrated post-rock is music that slowly sink in. The songs roll and float over and is almost entirely instrumental. Yet it is soothing to be embedded in sheets of sound: you really can hear that these guys are experienced tour-gang, who milled their material and create moods and weight with simple, carefully selected grip. Everything points to that the upcoming album Ours is not a caravan of Despair will be very interesting." - Folkbladet.nu "Final days society is like The Album Leaf, The Appleseed Cast and Sigur Ros rolled into one. Actually, that's probably all that needs to be said about the band because if that doesn't make you want to listen, I'm not sure what would. Their new album drops 4/15/11 and it's amazing." - The Album Project Emotional music from Sweden, NEW ALBUM "ICEBREAKER" OUT NOW! Contact: info@finaldayssociety.com Website: www.finaldayssociety.com
