About Brian Campeau
Celebrated for his powerful voice, unique instrumentation, unusual arrangements and organic, left field production, Brian Campeau is no regular singer songwriter. In 2009 he released his album “Mostly Winter Sometimes Spring” to rave reviews (“Genuine Genius” – The Drum Media), and toured it extensively throughout Australia. Brian has worked on many platforms having also had a major part in the music of the Underbelly season, Razor (Nine). He’s worked as a composer on television commercials, independent films, and radio broadcasts, as well as having worked closely with the likes of Angus and Julia Stone, Bluejuice, and Tommy Trash. His most current work includes the initial Australian release of Beck’s new album Song Reader, for which Brian has arranged most of the music, working with guests such as Thomas Rawle (Papa vs. Pretty), Josh Pyke, and Elana Stone. He is also currently working on his follow up solo album, slowly sifting through hundreds of demos, as well as recording a full length album with his garage-grass outfit the Green Mohair Suits, due to be released later this year. "There's a lot of aural collage on the records, almost as if Campeau has approached the making of the record as a painter..." -the Drum Media "If there is any justice in the world... Brian's fan base should become a groundswell at any time... imaginative, witty and tongue in cheek..." -the Brag "A vocal floating like a plastic bag in the breeze, a guitar that sounds like it once belonged to Nick Drake, and underneath it all some infuriatingly good beats, just to remind us we're in the city, not the country. These are Brian Campeau's tools, and he's one hell of a tradesman."
