About MOLARBEAR

Formed in 2013, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Molarbear are a bludgeon of sound that draws on noise and punk discordance in a brutal guitar assault. Featuring former members of local ne’er-do-wells Jackalfeud, The Comparison Ford, Altus, and Escape Fails, their mission statement is a simple one – make the heaviest noises possible, all the time. Since their inception, the band have played relentlessly, sharing the stage with acts such as Hornets, Lantern for a Gale, Maw, THVS, Axecatcher, Hibagon, Two Tales of Woe, Ilenkus, Making Monsters and many others. 2018 will see the completion of their debut album, recorded by Jonny Munro (Altus, Pursuit of Ruin, By Any Means), featuring twelve crushingly heavy tracks of pissed-off sludge for fans of Cave In, Breach, and Baroness. “Call it what you will – a band, a project… Molarbear is going to make a name for itself in its own right. It bursts through the speakers and marauds through your aural senses like an army breaking a siege and sacking the city. It’s ferocious, with chunks of riffs full of meaty goodness, like that really top grade pet food that you consider eating after a night on the ales, when you can’t see straight or be bothered to cook.” – Al Gilmore, Chordblossom “This is definitely one for all of you fans of experimentation and chest rattling heaviness.” – Skip, TheBurningBeard.com "The band deliver huge concrete slabs of sound coupled with tight melodies and taut dense rhythms overtopped with vocals with enough acid to strip wallpaper at a hundred paces." - Mark Ashby, PlanetMosh.com “Equal parts lethal and livid… The band, for all its inventiveness, borders on the nightmare-inducing. Nightmares you want to have and tell everyone about. Not that they’ll listen, but you’ll still tell them.” – Brian Coney, The Thin Air “Molarbear prove that, just because a band revels in being off-the-wall thematically, it doesn’t mean they can’t take their craft seriously. As such, this is a really infectious, inventive track that fuses postmodern pop with groove-laden sludge metal to great effect. Hefty and full of personality, ‘Rad Pitt’ verges on the absurd, and is all the better for it.” - BBC Across The Line GET RIFFED OR HIGH TRYING
