Corroosion

The band now known as CORROOSION was born in 2005 from the ashes of HEKATOMB, founded in 1998 in northern Italy. Devoted from the beginning to violent thrashcore/death metal, the band has been led by vocalist AnD through numerous lineup changes and shows.

After the self-produced experimental demo "Maze of Human Deprivation" and through a continuous creative process, the band stopped gigging in 2008 and entered One Voice Studios (Hatebreed's production team) to create their first six-track EP, "Two Steps Before the Vein". The sound of this release was immediately embraced by death metal and hardcore fans on MySpace, allowing CORROOSION to share stages with artists like The Acacia Strain, Deicide, Neaera, Annotations of an Autopsy, Knights of the Abyss, Cripple Bastards, Slowmotion Apocalypse, Extrema, and many others.

In June 2009, CORROOSION signed a worldwide record deal with British label Rising Records—nominated for Best Metal Label at the Hammer Golden Gods Awards 2009—and began recording their first full-length album, PUNISH THE MIND, with American producer Alan Douches (Killswitch Engage, Emmure, Carnifex, The Acacia Strain, Cannibal Corpse). The album and second single video "Mind Punishment" struck the scene in 2010, captivating extreme music fans worldwide with its diversity and determination.

In 2011, the band focused on shows with The Ghost Inside, Bleed From Within, Suffokate, Trigger the Bloodshed, and For the Fallen Dreams before beginning the writing process for new material. Leading magazines like Metal Hammer and Rock Hard recognized the value of their innovative sound, and a premiere version of the track "Repulsion" was included in a special compilation.

Their second full-length album, DIRT AWARENESS, was mixed and mastered by Swedish producer Fredrik Nordström at Fredman Studios (At the Gates, Job for a Cowboy, Bring Me the Horizon, Dimmu Borgir, In Flames) and released through Rising Records on February 27, 2012.

During 2016, CORROOSION embarked on a European tour. Following this, the band went on hiatus until 2025. After a comeback show with Signs of the Swarm, the band is currently working on new music and planning upcoming shows.
