Silent Addictions

SILENT ADDICTIONS is a Rock cover band of musicians born in Cuba. “Everything started with the desire to continue playing together.” In early 2012 Wilson (drummer) and Tico (guitar player), after being on stage together on several occasions, set out to make a band that could express their musical influences, mostly from the era of the 80s and 90s. Knowing our intentions, several friends were given the task of helping us. It was not long till we found a singer and arranged a meeting to discuss our plans. Wilson proposed to George, a singer, to participate in this project. Shortly after he accepted, we met at Tico’s house. Soon after that, we invited a fourth musician (Luiso, Tico’s brother and guitar player) to join the project. In late May of 2012 we all met for the first time, instruments in hand, and played together. It was the first test to see how we would sound. After a perfect blend, we decided to convince the fifth band member to join the project. A quick call and a confirmation from Barba (bass player) was everything we needed to start dreaming together. That's how a band called Rebel Soul started. This name would not last long after confirming the existence of other bands that used the same name. Days passed and the band continued without a name, until the night of April 1st when Tico proposed the name Silent Addictions, based on a thought of Albert Einstein. Everyone liked it and from that moment on, we only had to do what we did best: arguing. LOL!! We selected a repertoire and started arranging the songs. We tried to recreate old classics with fidelity but we were also looking for a sound that differed from the other cover bands. Silent Addictions performed for the first time on Saturday, July 28th, at Vero's By The Bay (Key Biscayne). Following this debut, we got booked in two great places in the Broward area (Café 27 and Cagney's Saloon). These two gigs closed the loop, and confirmed that the band could perform live and compete in a mostly American market, playing for extremely demanding audiences who knew the genre very well. In late 2012, and after several performances, a change occurred with one of its members and that's how our current singer, Frank, joined the band. He is an amazing and talented Cuban musician and vocalist. The band was finally complete! Thanks to the collaboration of the newest member, the band could immensely improve their sound and show infrastructure, using their own PA and lighting system. Silent Addictions’ members are: Alex R. Knuckles (Lead Vocal). Luis Ramirez (Luiso): Guitar and Vocals. Roberto Ramirez (Tico Ram): Guitar and Vocals. Jorge Luis Barba (Barba): Bass Guitar. Wilson Perez (Wilson): Drums. The band has a large following from Miami (the city where they live) as well as from the Broward area, where they perform most of the time. Silent Addictions has regularly performed at the following locations: Vero's By The Bay, Café 27, Cagney's Saloon, Flossie's Bar & Grill, Rip's Sports Bar and Grill, and Shank's Town Tavern. Today we can proudly say that Silent Addictions is a Super High-Energy Rock Band performing in bars from Broward to Dade County, with a long list of cover songs that will make you feel as if you were at a concert arena. We electrify the dance floor and hold the crowd ALL NIGHT LONG! ****************************************************************** SILENT ADDICTIONS una banda de Rock Covers integrada por músicos nacidos en Cuba. “Todo surge por las ganas de continuar tocando juntos” A principios de 2012 Wilson y Tico después de compartir en varias ocasiones escenarios se propusieron hacer una banda en la que pudiesen expresar sus influencias musicales mayormente de la época de los 80 y 90s. Conociendo nuestras intenciones, varios amigos se dieron a la tarea de ayudarnos, no pasó mucho tiempo para conocer al cantante y concertar una reunión para llevar a cabo nuestras intenciones. Así es como Wilson le propone a George ( Singer ) participar de este proyecto. No pasa mucho y fijan un día para reunirse en casa de Tico. Llega el día fijado y surge la idea de invitar a un cuarto músico (Luiso) tratando así de incorporarlo al proyecto. A fines de mayo de 2012 se reúnen por primera vez instrumentos en mano para hacer la primera prueba de cómo sonaría esta unión. Después de una mezcla perfecta decidimos convencer al quinto y último elemento para que se uniera al proyecto. Una llamada y rápida confirmación del Barba fue todo lo necesario para comenzar a soñar. Así es como Rebel Soul daba sus primeros pasos. Nombre que no duraría mucho al confirmar la existencia de otras bandas que hacían uso de este. Pasaron los días y la banda continuaba sin un nombre, hasta que la noche del 1ro de abril Tico propuso, Silent Addictions, basado en un pensamiento de Albert Einstein. Todos levantaron su pulgar y a partir de ese momento solo teníamos que hacer lo que mejor sabíamos… Discutir. Lol. Seleccionar un repertorio y arreglarlo era el camino a seguir. Tratando así de recrear los clásicos del género con fidelidad pero a la vez creando un sello que los diferenciara de la competencia. Silent Addictions se presento por 1ra vez un sábado 28 de Julio en Vero’s By The Bay ( Key Biscayne ). Seguidamente a este debut se confirmaron fechas para dos excelentes lugares en el área de Broward (Café 27 y Cagney’s Saloon. siendo estos contratos los que cerraran el lazo, confirmando que la banda podía integrarse y competir en un mercado conformado por un público mayormente americano, extremadamente exigente y por supuesto, tremendamente conocedor del genero. A finales del año 2012 y después de varias presentaciones iba a ocurrir el cambio de uno de sus integrantes y fue así como llego nuestro actual cantante Frank, un músico también cubano de increíble talento tanto vocal como musical. La banda al fin estaba completa y gracias a la colaboración de este ultimo integrante se mejoro inmensamente en cuanto a sonido e infraestructura del show que actualmente ofrece Silent Addictions Sus integrantes: Alex R. La banda tiene un gran número de seguidores de Miami (La ciudad en donde radican) tanto como de el área de Broward. Siendo este donde lleven a cabo el 90 % de sus presentaciones.
