About He She Wonderland

Sydney's newest up & coming band! Dig deeper to discover this new act! He She Wonderland have established themselves as the hottest new act in the music scene. For 17 long years Mavis Wonderland would work 14-hour days as a tailor in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Mavis was the single mother of August and Andy Wonderland – brothers deserted at birth by their fathers. Constantly being left to fend for themselves, Andy and August Wonderland quickly developed a reputation as troublemakers in their quiet Sydney suburb. On a hot summers day in 2002, the brothers were up to their usual mischief when a fascinating sound caught their ears. Intrigued by the vibrations they were hearing, they followed the banging and crashing and eventually found themselves standing in front of a run-down property. Always the curious ones they took a closer look. Peaking into the door of the garage they witnessed a man playing the drum-kit. This garage had been transformed into a makeshift rehearsal studio, complete with guitars, microphones and amplifiers. A conversation ensued between the children and the man on the drum-kit. Sensing their excitement, the man handed the boys an electric and bass guitar and the three of them jammed into the night. August found his talent in singing and Andy found his talent in playing the bass. As the years progressed this became a ritual and the Wonderland brothers developed a deep love for music. Many years later, turning into full-grown young men, Andy and August Wonderland created a music entity of their own. The brothers formed He She Wonderland. The boys had a passion and He She Wonderland was that passion. Straightaway the Wonderland boys started writing and jamming. They started forming connections with other musicians in the neighbourhood and before long they had a full working band. He She Wonderland hit the Sydney music scene with a bang. From their first gig they showed vibrancy that was evident in no other band. Their eccentricities flowed from the stage. They developed nicknames as they continued gigging. August became known as ‘the Ego’. Andy became known as ‘the Image’. Cut to the year 2013 – The boys have released their debut Album ‘Arrival’. For the last year the Wonderland duo had been in and out of the studio cutting this record. Praised as one hell of a debut album, ‘Arrival’ shows off the unique song writing and music style of He She Wonderland. Never clinging to a specific style they set themselves apart from the masses in the music industry. Along with the Album they have released their first Music Video for ‘Bitch’. If this clip is indicative of one thing, it is their bizarre personalities. The music video just goes to show that He She Wonderland are never afraid to be who they are. Much has changed since their childhood days jamming in the garage. Their mother works fewer hours, they cause less trouble on the streets and they have more facial hair. More determined than ever, the Wonderland boys keep moving forward in their unique way. Debut album "Arrival", available on iTunes, Spotify & CD! -- www.heshewonderland.com
