About Liquid Meat

Liquid Meat was formed by guitarist and singer/songwriter Freddie Mack. He was born in Munich, but grew up in Los Angeles- where his journey as a rocker began. The band played countless gigs in the dirtiest bars to the finest clubs Hollywood had to offer, they recorded 2 albums, yet Freddie was not satisfied by the LA music scene. So in 2011, he moved back to his birthplace, and with his feet barely on his native Bavarian soil, he was asked to play at the 2012 Wacken Open Air Festival, as the opening act for Henry Rollins on the Headbangers Stage. In 2013, he reformed Liquid Meat with its first all German line up and as newcomers in Munich, they achieved quite a bit in a rather short amount of time. Together they played over 45 shows in two years. In 2014, a crowd funding campaign funded their new record "In Meat We Trust” The album was completely funded by the fans, produced and mixed by the legendary producer of Queen, ELO, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple, and entirely in analog. The album was reviewed well over a dozen times by magazines, webzines, and blogs, the songs received airplay on local radio as well as on internet radio and podcasts from abroad, and the band has been interviewed by magazines, newspapers, webzines, blogs, as well as on the radio. In 2015, the band continued to gig and the stages got bigger and more shows were played. This included Rock Am Klenze, the biggest musical festival organized by students in all of Germany, and the the longest open air festival in the world at the Theatron Musiksommer Festival at Munich’s Olympia Park. Now in 2017, Liquid Meat is back on stage with a new sound and a new line up: Freddie Mack switched to the thundering 5 string bass and refined his growling vocal stylings to fit the more hard rock melodic stylings of the music, well known Munich shredding virtuoso Ritchie Kelly joined him on lead guitar, and the grooving drumming behemoth Tom Hauser completed the new line up. The power groove trio is planning to record a new album in the spring, shoot music videos, and of course be on stage as much as possible. "It’s refreshing to hear a band not rely on rock clichés but explore alternatives." Roger Glover/Deep Purple www.liquidmeatlocker.com
