About The Despots

The Despots formed in 2015 with Eddie Brewer (vocals and piano), Danny Pohl (guitar), and Mark Manspeaker (Drums). In 2017 Steve Wild joined the group on electric and upright bass. The Despots sound is a result of their broad palette of influences including jazz, blues, rock and roll, country, rockabilly, psychobilly, surf, punk, metal, and often employs dark, or satirical lyrical themes. Pounding beats, solid rhythms, and searing guitar leads, surround the vocals of manic front man Eddie Brewer. From the dark jazz tainted "Howl" to twisted outlaw country of "Angels", The Despots never fail to entertain and audience. The Despots appeared multiple times at The Rockabilly on the Route Festival in Tucumcari, New Mexico, and have shared the stage with international touring acts Nekromantix, Koffin Kats, Reno Divorce, Krank Daddies and the Living Deads.
