Band was amazing. The other concert goers were insufferable bros talking about time signatures and how they were true fans and not there for the "hits" like everyone else. Goooood lord, get over yourselves, can't we all just listen to the music and let it take us higher? So yeah it's that vibe, but worth it to see and hear the absolutely on fire Mars Volta.

Cedric sung his heart out and Omar played the guitar with excellent skill. They both worked the stage very well! Was impressed with the musician that played cello, saxophone, and keyboards! Great talent! Got my husband a Mars Volta sweat shirt and he bought a t-shirt as well. Also impressed with the staff and security at the Union Event center. The venue was larger than I expected. Plenty of space for fans. Overall a great experience!

The Mars Volta Rocks My World! 🤘
They brought it a 2nd time around for their hard core So Cal Fans and gave us a classic Volta show where they do what they love to do and do best - just rock out and jam for us - they really gave us a lot of LOVE! Really authentic and amazing show! 🤩🫶💃🏻

Outstanding show. The Mars Volta did not disappoint whatsoever. The sound was amazing, as were the lights and overall atmosphere. Easily one of the better concerts I have ever attended. The venue was also on point. The staff was extremely helpful and very positive. Incredible experience. Thank you to The Mars Volta, and the Union Event Center for a great night.

Excellent, Awesome, Mind Blowing!!!! The Mars Volta really PUT ON A SHOW!!!!!! Gave it all they had. They even said it was an extraordinarily good night. Venue is great too - glad to see the promoters bringing in "unusual" bands who usually skip over the territory between NYC & Boston & only play those 2 big cities.

Absolutely a religious experience. The band is incredible live. They play throughout the entire concert even in between established songs. It's an absolute mind warp. Cedric, Omar and the rest of the band were beyond tight and in synch, they were floating on magic carpets while emitting other worldly waves of sonic energy.

Amazing show, nice, intimate venue, they gave a hell of a performance and really connected with audience...venue PA was a bit rough, though, they may need to replace some speakers or something, staff was very nice and made us feel comfy and at home...but the GA section was solid concrete, which made standing uncomfortable...but the show was so good, we didn't care!!!!

AMAZING! They were absolutely fantastic. His voice was even better than it is on recording. This was a bucket list band for us and they absolutely delivered. The venue was great too, acoustics were solid, lines for the bar and merch were set up well, great experience all around.

The show was awesome, so sad it's over. "Front of the line" passes were a huge scam (and assumed so). The venue was a lot bigger than the previous one I was able to see them at, so sound wasn't the greatest. I'm happy to see such a huge turnout, but that also includes not such die-hard fans in attendance. Great time and great people. Stoked my daughter got to enjoy with me as well finally, especially after growing up listening to this all of her life ❤️

So far one of the best shows this year The Mars Volta really brought it.!!!! Play a little bit off of almost all of the albums could not ask for a better set in a better venue

First time at the Masquerade. Great venue and the sound was terrific. I am normally not impressed with live sound these days, as it seems most live mixing engineers favor a bass-heavy approach combined with a “louder is better” mentality, resulting in noise that is sometimes unrecognizable as the music I came to hear. The sound at this show was clear and balanced very well, so kudos to the mix engineer for both TMV and Teri Gender Bender. Speaking of, this was the first time in recent memory that I wasn’t waiting for the opener to be finished. Teri Gender Bender has a tight band with great arrangements, and the stage presence was top notch. What a voice! See this tour if you get the chance. The Mars Volta personnel were all incredible musicians, and there were moments of improvisation that made me think of Coltrane’s and Davis’ electric days. I especially enjoyed when the keyboardist took a solo and Omar (guitar) stepped off the stage to watch and listen - I could see that he (and the rest of the band) were really listening to the solo and being amazed along with the audience, adding a genuine sense that many in attendance, including the band, really value musical talent. Great night!

I wont be forgetting those two days any time soon. Cedric's voice is as powerful as it ever was. Omar and Gabe ... wow... Everyone else played in perfect lockstep. Pure Jazz feelings. Loved every minute of it.

Finally got to see these guys last night. So worth it, incredibly tight performance! Highly recommended. Drummer is a fucking beast. Catch this tour even if you have qualms about direction of their return LP. Set list leans heavy on first couple of albums. Left some of my favs off of albums 3 & 4 but what can you expect when song length is exploratory? Technical and inspired, worthy of your money and a night out. Welcome back TMV, still a boss

Everything about this was perfect. Sound, seating, and of course the band. I'll ignore commenting about the drink prices because it would then pull down the 5 start rating. It doesn't appear to be a "bad seat" in the building. Everywhere seemed to have an awesome view.

This show didn't sell out but, even if it had, the biblical flood of rain-water on the day of the event certainly would have tamped down attendance. Those who forded the rivers of the Oregon-trail deadly roads to the venue were rewarded with an astounding 2-hour long set with CD-perfect quality throughout the show. I'm still reeling with wonder and nostalgia a full week later

I went to this show with my best friend who loved the mars volta before I did. She never got to see them live and never thought she would. I was so happy to be there with her for this experience. Massey Hall looks and sounds better than it ever has and the band was better than they ever have been. Ill remember this show on my death bed.

Top-notch performance from Omar, Cedric and the rest of the band. Great selection of tracks played from throughout their career. Nice to hear a couple songs from their new self-titled album. I hadn't really realized until seeing them live just what an extraordinary guitar player Omar is! And Cedric's vocals and amazing dance moves were absolutely captivating. Add to that the wonderful performance by their opener, Teri Gender Bender, you've got yourself one hell of an excellent evening of music.

I first saw The Mars Volta in 2005 at Lupo’s in Providence RI, a few weeks before my 18th birthday. That show changed my life. Seventeen years later, last night’s show was somehow even better. The live band is a collection of amazing musicians that you should take any chance you can get to see. Magic happened at that show.
The venue was decent. Good-sized floor area and all seats seemed to have good views. They’re fully cashless, including merch. The bag check was an absolute disaster after the show, so skip that entire thing if possible.

It was everything it should be that I didn’t know I wanted it to be. Aging like fine wine, Omar and Cedric gave the best return from a hiatus performance that they could have given! Glad to have been there for this new chapter in the Volta legacy, and with my son no less… They selected a perfect set list to encompass their catalogue that should have pleased new and old fans. And thank you to them for kicking it off in their home state! Que viva Los Mars Volta!

Incredible. Teri Gender Bender's stage presence and frenetic, ethereal tunes could not have been a more perfect opener. The boys were BACK, playing all the classics and conforming some of their new stuff to fit in perfectly with their past catalogue. Little disappointed they left out any tracks from Bedlam in Goliath (absolutely loved seeing them play Metatron live a looong time ago) BUT, with the stripped down instrumentation, the 90+ minute set that was basically non-stop, with Cedric happily ceding lyrics to a venue packed with fans finishing the song for him, it's hard to sincerely be disappointed in the slightest with this slow. One stupid nitpick-- the sound mixer did turn Cedric's vocals down a little too much at one point and we absolutely missed a fantastic belt from him, hahaha, but like I said. Nitpick, 5/5 still!
